| Something I noticed, at least on the version of GB I use...it can make your songs longer too! I'm seeing the length of my songs grow by about 46ms each time I play one to the end. You can see if it affects your version of GB by putting the current-position marker near the end marker...hit play and when the song finishes hit play a few times while you watch the clock. The only work-around I could find was to use the "cycle region" feature...not ideal, but it keeps the length from changing. l8! |

| Since I'm using an older GB (no "Auto Normalize" checkbox), I use PeakLimiter on the main track. I turn it up until I see it start to work and then turn it down about two notches. *shrug* | |

| Can we steer this more towards production tips now? I think we're all pretty much agreeing on the original topic by this point or that's never gonna happen so there's little use in wasting the verbiage. Lookin' at you OP... What if all I have is Apple buds, a mid-range car stereo and a small tv? Can I make it sound good on each? Should I start on the tv and work towards the car or might it be better to go the other way round? Do you recommend that one considers the EQ as an essential user-addition or should we mix it as we want to hear it from the get-go? IMHO, a lot of commercial music just sounds flat and crappy without adding eq...is this why it sounds ok on my tv? When it gets played from the site there is no eq (unless the listener goes out of their way) so I guess I'm more inclined to "enrich" it - and by that I mean make it sound like it "should" if I were gonna listen to it. But then if the listener does eq it, of course it's gonna sound terrible. I dunno, just some random thoughts and questions. Take it or leave it. l8 |

| I'm the deaf vote. My "studio" wasn't even worth $2000 new and it was hard to afford that. You can only do so much. I see no point in complaining about the production when the music is free and made w/ love. |
