Biography
I was born and raised in northern Illinois last century but moved to rural Missouri a few years ago to simplify my world. I'm privileged to be able create music in the most beautiful and inspiring corner of the Ozarks where I'm surrounded by trees and water and blue, blue sky. But the tranquility and time for reflection have not made writing any easier. Rather, I'm more aware of the often anxious, sometimes painful yet thoroughly ecstatic relationship I have with my music. It's like having a fickle and capricious lover who can pour more life into your essence than you can absorb. The savory tension between us gets me high or makes me weep or fills me with jealousy or anger or makes me frightened and lonely. And although she slips in and out of my hands, I pursue the times we're entwined because we create things together that make a difference in the world. Those are the times I live for.
