Biography
The Industrialism is a electronic/experimental music project of the musician, multi-instrumentalist and composer M1A1, formed in 2008. Born in Visegrád, Hungary, but grown in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, he started producing electronic music around the age of 8, but before this, he was a self-taught guitarist since he was 6.
Influenced by survival horror games, his works ranges from idm, drill and bass, breakcore and, sometimes, ambient and chillout pieces, always mixing melodies influenced by isolation, nostalgia and sadness, mixed with fast and abrasive drum programming.
In your project, his songs and albums don’t follow a centralized musical style and, instead, his albums sound more like “compilation of tracks in the same style.” However, after the “Inconsequential Hallucinations” album and the “Decline Remix Stuff” compilation EP, his music had a radical change. Actually, his music features a very “chilled-out atmosphere”, with washes of mellow and tranquil synthesized pads, acid synth-lines and deep sub-bass. The “breakcore edited-breaks” continues to be heavily featured, along with samples of movies, noises and field recordings.
One of the most prolific musicians of the electronic music scene in Brazil, M1A1 is a artist with a unusual creativity, having released over 15 albums on labels such as The Glitch Corporation, Chase Records, Chippanze and Subspine Records and, several of his other albums were self-released on the Internet by M1A1.
M1A1 utilizes a wide array of analog and digital synths in his production as well as analog and digital drum machines, samplers and old school breakbeats, as the “amen break”. M1A1 also made extensive use of a variety of computer based sequencers, softsynths, and other applications, such as Max/MSP, Kyma and Pure Data. The song’s title contains “intentional” typos, junction of words, random and abstract words/names.
