Gary, I think this is your best song to date. An excellent tune, superb mix - everything is just riht. Good imagery and influences too.

Absolutely excellent.

Haunting....

My only comment would be the vocals could be made a bit softer and pushed back in the mix a little.

Some of the melody parts could do with being made a little more prominent, but overall I think this is a fantastic piece. Really great riffs, catchy and dreamy. Beautiful sounds and atmosphere. I love the drums.

Kind of Kraftwerk meets Tangerine Dream. I wish I'd made this. Really my kind of thing!

Great track, well done.

This is a really atmospheric and well performed track. Lovely spacey sounds. I tried to do something similar with my song "Birthline". My only criticism would be that it is too long.

A space-age epic, full of surprises. Well done.

This is an emotive and reflective piece, nicely put together. This wouldn't be out of place on the soundtrack to a David Lynch film.

I thought "White Magic" was particularly interesting... some kind of science-fiction opus. I felt a strong presence of Jean Michel Jarre in the music, which appealed to me very much.

I don't think ambient is the right category for it though - I found it to be more abstract. We really need an instrumental genre in the list, as it would be much more appropriate for some tracks.

Although I found it too repetitive to my taste, it does build up really nicely. I love the sounds and production style. A bit of a warm summer night on a cold autumn day.

Cheers guys... nice to know it's not just me who likes it! smiley

I think sometimes, if you're really into a song you're making, you don't notice all the flaws or even realise it might be crap!

I was very happy with the sounds/atmosphere with this one.

Dance/trance isn't usually my cup of tea, but you've got a good range of sounds here and a nice, catchy riff. More production on the otherwise pleasant vocals wouldn't go amiss.

The introduction is amazing!! I realy love that bass synth that comes in... I want that sound!!! smiley

Nice use of loops... good atmosphere.

I had hoped it might build up to something, but perhaps it's better to keep a track like this simple.

Well done.

Nuuuuman! ;-p

This is really good - actually the intro reminds me a lot of "Seconds" by The Human League... and then with those lovely synthetic strings, it ventures into "Replicas" territory (and to be honest, I think it is better than 'I Nearly Married A Human').

Very sci-fi... would make a good film soundtrack.

I'd like to hear more from where this came...

After The Rain by futuredaze 2 years ago

Ah great minds and all that.... one of my frist songs was called "After The Rain", which by sheer coincidence, I have just uploaded!

However despite sharing the same title, our songs are very different, and yours is much better! Lovely piano melody... you can almost smell the warm summer rain settling on the ground outside, glimmering and sparkling in the sunset.

I didn't like the change in the middle at first, but it grew on me!

Grand.

Melodically the first part of this song sounds very much like John Foxx's "Kurfurstendamm". if you don't know the song, check out his "Tiny Colour Movies" album smiley

I like the unexpected variety of this track. Would work well in a film. I also like the use of the word "Dalek".
Overkill by DjDetski 2 years ago
I'm not really a fan of goa/trance music, but I thought this track had a good groove. Melodically it doesn't go far enough for my taste and it's too repetitive - but isn't that what trance is all about?! I like the synths and the energy.

Borealis (Original Edit) by ElycionState 2 years ago
There's a repetitive piano note which sounds out of key - even if this was intentional, it stands out every time smiley

It is a bit repetitive, but overall I think the groove and the sound is really good. Upbeat and uplifting. I like the 80s feel smiley

Lovely title too.

This is delightful! Reminds me a little of Jen Michel Jarre's "Zoolook" smiley
The vocal sound is really cool. Got my foot tapping immediately and I couldn't stop it!!

I love the synths/samples and atmospheres here... great melody. My only "problem" is that sometimes the sound level doesn't seem quite right when the layers of music build up, it sounds a little distorted. There's probably a word for it but I don't know it!

It doesn't stroke me as particularly December-ish though.... this is my kind of spring/summer music! smiley

Overall a great job - one hell of a tune!!

This might not be my best track (then again, it might!), but it was certainly the most daring, and I felt quite a sense of achievement from completing it!

I love deep pads too... I'd be lost without them!!

David Bowie's version of WITW is my all-time favourite song. But with that in mind, I'm always tentative when hearing covers of songs that I don't think should be touched! smiley

Overall a beautiful piece - so it's interesting to hear such a different approach in this cover. Delicate and emotive vocals; very smooth, although I find the "itself" note far too long.

I do like the sparse, atmospheric electronic backing, that was a nice surprise. Very interesting.

Beautiful end note, too.

This track opens with one of my favourite GB loops... great foot-tapping beats and an overall optimistic sound.

Unfortunately there is a problem with the file, as the sound quality breaks up half-way though, I think it needs re-uploading.

My foot started tapping away to this without the rest of me even realising! Great synths, and a cool, catchy riff. Took a bit too long to get going, but nonetheless, the foot kept tapping. A well produced track.

Excellent synths, and a really catchy melody. Love the tinkely bell melody. Love the bass and build-up. My only complaint is that it's too harsh when played on the headphones.

Just a minute?! I want to hear the rest! Encore!! That is a realy beautiful piece. Reminded me of some of Jean Michel Jarre's music (which I love). I like the idea of such a short track, but I think this one in particular, is just too short - it left me yearning for more. Overall I found it quite a reflective piece of music.

Quite pleasanrt and melodic. Very emotional and filmic. The only thing that let it down for me was the strings sounding obviously synthesised – I'd love to hear a version wth real strings.
