AND NOW A WORD FROM THE PARODY BROTHERS' MANAGER, MR. DICK SWIZZLE, ON THEIR SAD, SORDID HISTORY...
The history of the band known as The Parody Brothers is a textbook warning against the hideous, wretched excess of a life in rock and roll. How does a band of four brothers climb the mountain of success again and again, only to have their fingers stepped on each time they crest the peak? How does a group of accomplished musicians accustomed to the riches and glamour of rocking on the road in places like Melbourne, Florida, to Ft. Smith, Arkansas, and even Shreveport, Louisiana, to a fall from grace that sees them producing pitiful cover songs about golf, baseball, football and anything else they can think of in a last-gasp cash grab?
PARENTS, DON'T LET YOUR BABIES GROW UP TO BE MUSICIANS
As with any band that has lasted four decades, there is more - so much more - to their utterly pathetic story. The band has broken up and regrouped so many times even they have lost count. Yes, JJ Parody really is pictured on the cover of Sgt. Pepper. Yes, DJ Parody really did audition for KISS. Yes, AJ really did sign on to record and tour with Spinal Tap, only to discover what had happened to all their other drummers and get himself out just in time. Then there is the tale of CJ and Mick and Keith and the incredible debauchery in the south of France during the recording of Exile on Main Street. These stories and more will be told in due time. Instead, let’s get right to the point. And that point is: BUY THE RECORD! Head straight to iTunes right this very second and purchase GOLF ROCK: Shooting in the 70s. Recorded in the band's sprawling, luxurious Apple Jack Studios complex, which JJ had built on his ranch in the band's headier days, this slab o' rawk faithfully recreates some of their favorite classic rock hits from the glorious, over-the-top seventies, and spices them up with totally ridiculous lyrics lovingly aimed at the boys’ other favorite pastime, hitting the links.
And this is just the beginning. The group is already poking fun at MLB, politics, CNN, even doctors and lawyers. They can also produce custom songs and albums for special occasions, corporate events, holiday gifts, or any other questionable scheme you may have cooked up. You can even pick the songs and write the lyrics, and they’ll make the song just for you. If you have something in mind, shoot them an email at djparody@gmail.com – make no mistake, the Parody Brothers are truly musical *****s, and will at least consider most anything.
After all, making music is fun. But making fun of music is funner.
Sincerely,
Dick Swizzle
