Biography
Born and raised in the St. Louis area, I've lived in Chattanooga, TN, where I attended college at Covenant College (B.A., 1979, with a minor in music); Baltimore, MD, where I lived and worked for a total of about 6 years, doing course work in the University of Baltimore's masters program in Publications Design; suburban Philadelphia (Bensalem), where I worked in the printing industry for about 2 years; suburban Pittsburgh (McKees Rocks) where I worked as a researcher and reviewer for Teen Vision, Inc.; suburban Los Angeles (Chino), CA, where I helped launch Focus on the Family's Plugged In magazine (www.pluggedinonline.com, formerly Parental Guidance); and, for the past 13 years, Colorado Springs, CO, where I have worked with publishing, electrical supplies and office technology. I recently copyedited a book (The 24-7 Prayer Manual) for Cook Communications' NexGen imprint, and I am active in my church's creative arts program.
Musically, I've been a part of the following bands: Diamond Dan & The Cut Gems (Chattanooga, late '70s); Saturday (Baltimore, early '80s); Eleventh Hour (Colorado Springs, 1990s; runners-up in KILO-FM's 1996 Rock'n'Roll Shootout); in the early '80s I performed with Ike Floyd of the BB&Q Band (R&B act whose "On the Beat" reached the #8 spot on the Billboard Black Singles chart and whose self-titled album reached #109 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums); and more recently with members of Palmer, a new band from Colorado Springs. On Saturdays I can be found hanging out behind the counter at Prosound Music in the Springs.
