Biography
I'm currently employed as Senior Interactive Web Developer at a Kansas City. MO agency, VML Inc. Most of my spare time is spent either creating 3D/2D Fantasy Art and Animations, or working on my music compositions. My current goal is to make some kind of a career out of composing for gaming or film, tv, commercial promos, and/or work in the 3D industry (games, commercials, etc).
I've played guitar for over 25 years, and I've studied music at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I currently do most of my composing on a Windows XP machine, using Cakewalk Sonar 7&8 and various samplers and libraries such as Kontakt3 (VSL, Symphony of Voices, Voices of the Apocolypse), EWQL libraries (Choirs, Stormdrum, Orchestra, RA, Gypsy, Ministry of Rock, Voices of Passion). Over the years I've accumulated close to a dozen assorted P4-based machines that I have networked together and use as rendering nodes for my 3D animations. I use some of them, along with fx-teleport, as Virtual Instrument servers, which takes a huge load off of my current workstation. FXT allows me to run my VSTs on separate dedicated machines.
So I finally bought a new computer. It has the new Intel Core i7 processor, 12GB of DDR3, and runs on Windows 7 64-bit OS...I can finally run my EWQL PLAY instruments!
My influences and inspirations in orchestral writing are many, but some of my favorites are: Stravinsky, Shostakovich, Wagner, Mahler, Gorecki, Penderecki, Gyorgy Ligeti and also the film scores of John Williams, Danny Elfman, Elliot Goldenthal. My influences on the guitar are too many to mention, but recently I've been inspired by Steve Morse, John Petrucci, and throughout my entire musical life by Michael Schenker.
