the winds of stonehenge by TheMotto 1 day ago
Just don't forget the annotating Feet and inches uses different marks! Otherwise the midgets will crush the Stonehenge replica that gets lowered from the stage. Very imposing and almost horrific themes here. It does capture the dark majesty of Stonehenge and its Druidic mystery. It also reminds me of 2001 A Space Odyssey music too.

Sometimes... the music just gotta be let OUT! nice intro beat and key stabs.... I like the transition into the more sinister music part very nice transitions in and out of themes. It reminds me of a movie i saw about a half-man and machine called Cyborg. Very cool movie and very cool music to remind me of it! I do wanna go faster YEAH! I DO!!! Good layering throughout. Bravo! loved it!

I am not familiar with this as I should be. But it does capture the mood very well in it's fullness and melancholic vocal delivery which is sweet. The distorted guitar sound like something off of their Division Bell era era sound which fits this song well. It really is enchanting and magical. Great job for a collar!!! WOW!

Never heard of the battle of Iquique, but for me the music conjures up the last of the Mohicans movie. The Battle part at sea is captured well in the melodies and rhythm too. Thanks for posting this magnificent and intricate effort of music!

I really enjoyed the listen! I like your sense of melody. A brooding melody at that but backed by a very upbeat drum part. Very cool stuff.

The guitars remind me of some early Cure or even the chordal movements of Kurt Cobain. The Lead reminds me of Poison's debut album and many other bands including Twisted Sister. The vocals like a calmer Alice Cooper. I like the message, of course. Enjoyed!

Funny stuff, the opening of this song reminds me of The Prodigy but more occidental and the abruptness of the changes reminds me of changing TV channels or clicking through web pages quickly. It is a very obsessive song and it is very well done.

I love U2 (around the Joshua Tree era)... The guitars are very EDGE and the vocals are stacked very well. I love the sentiments that come from a heartbreak it can generate some deep creativity. And it is apparent that this song comes from a sad place but has a triumphant feel to it like "Where the streets have no name". Very well done not to get stuck in sadness but turn it to something more positive! great job guys!

How Are You? (EZMIX2) by Tony2008 16 days ago
@GuitariusMaximus I love YES, it is really sad I only got into them in the 80's because of Tevor Rabin's Hit with them "Owner of a Lonely Heart." But that album opened them up to me so I went on to like groups like Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman, Howe...

@gepo The 80's were a magical time or me musically, when I discovered bands other than the ones featured on Casey Kasem's 'American Top 40 program which ran every Sunday morning. I also discovered he did Shaggy's voice for Scooby Doo... lol

@ClayPotts Wow your comment is so Kind! When I saw it it really encouraged me that I was going in the right direction in this tune with mixing and the re-sing of it. Thank you for making my day!!!!

@pharmakeus This tune is so different for me to do, I feel it is my style but not my style at the same time! lol I am glad you liked the mix... does the bass or bass tones bother you? I have had some people tell me that in the sub woofer range of the song might be a bit too loud... I bought a sub-woofer to check it out... it is coming in today! lol anywhoo.... ty for listening!

@theironsaul The song is a really positive tone, and every time I perform or play it people seem to like it. If you look closely at how I arranged it, it breaks with most standard ways of arranging songs, but to me it just feels right to do it that way. It is a really simple message, and I have trouble writing simple messages... lol Thanks for the kind words!

Your playing has moments were it reminds me of Tosin Abasi. Greg Howe, and Steve Vai. The technical preciseness of your note choice is fantastic and melodic. Some of the riffs for leads you use I have heard other virtuosos play in their songs. I wish I had your discipline at the craft. I just flail about hoping something comes out right. I can see your mind set is more patterned and better at reproducing your licks note for note like a Joe Satriani or Eddie Van Halen. Btw you have a sweet looking EVH. I had a Tobacco Sunburst Peavey EVH Wolfie that I sold...and now regret selling. lol Nicely recorded and tight arrangement. Really enjoyed the song!!! You rock!

@KCsGROOVE Yeah I am trying to polish up some stuff for my upcoming collection of songs (which you probably have already! lol)... I am honored that I am part of your collection of songs!

@revoltington I really liked my solo guitar work at the end of the song. I actually worked hard on trying to play a good melody and good notes to fit with the "vibe" of the tune. It seems like those notes are the only ones that go with the song! lol Live-- I will be playing guitar without the Keys part so It will be interesting as a three piece band to do this song...challenging for sure! Thanks for the ratings and the kind words!

It has a very nice melodic trend like Iron Maiden from Powerslave era. Also you can play guitar very well! Progressive and Djenty indeed! I like the jarring transitions and the EZDrummer sounds fantastic. I can sense the fu you had playing this during the recording. Some of your sweeping reminds me of Dream Theatre dude and the rhythm guitars are very nicely done. And it finishes on high note like "Crossroads" with Steve Vai dueling with Ralph Macchio... very sweet. You are really talented!

@GuitariusMaximus Thanks for stopping by! I am honored you dug the song. The VH reference was only to the way I mixed the earlier version where I panned the only guitar in that song to one side like Ted Templeman did to EVH's guitar back in the day...I am about to upload a song you might like...it is an original guitar instrumental based on The Queen of Sheba's grand entrance to see King Solomon. It is called Solomon's Song... watch for it...I would love to hear your thoughts on it!

@GuitariusMaximus Thanks for enjoying my manic shredding. I didn't really plan this one out so it is kinda random, which is why I like it. I like to stay "outside" most normal musical conventions and try to chart my own way warts and all.

The Other Half by AngeloA 28 days ago
5

I like the encouraging rhythm that starts this song off as hopeful but turns to raw emotion as the singer sings "crazy". Combined with the cover art of you at ground zero and the words I can see several meanings overlapping here. One being a man for his other half. The other being a metaphor for what happened there at ground zero and the human disaster that touched so many. love the beat and the fade at the ending. Well, done my friend.

Negative Infinity (mix .01 take 1) by Tony2008 29 days ago
@pharmakeus So, by your suggestion I would move the snare to about 1 O'clock or further to like 3 O'clock? for balance....
I could just do the guitars dead center, yep, but that to me is kinda defeating the STEREO-ness I like about Stereo...lol

But you are right, I could do that... The reason I did the pan was kind an homage to early Van Halen... which sounded unbalanced to me.... Similar to The Beatles panning Ringo's drums all the way on one side which always bothered me (but never bothered anyone else!)
Negative Infinity (mix .01 take 1) by Tony2008 1 month ago
@pharmakeus Yeah, I felt it was "missing" a guitar part...so I will probably double the original and re-amp it in ReValver with another distortion to balance the mix out. Thanks for rating it and for commenting... I was felt I was alone on an island with this song... lol I do like the levels and the clean sounds...Is it the right "loudness" or is it too quiet sounding?

Oh Honey (The Audreys) by Tony2008 1 month ago
@Cinderella I am glad you like the song. Thanks for downloading it. I hope it brings happiness to you. The Drums are MIDI driven drum triggers of real drum samples of a drummer playing the drums. Toontrack makes Superior Drummer, I used EZDrummer for a long time until I could afford Superior Drummer. If you want a better sound in your recordings, I believe this is the best way to go. You can find them here: Toontrack Products. There are other drum software products this is just the one I picked because it is easy to understand and sounds real. Also I have a MIDI Drum kit that I use with my drummer friends who come in to record with me and we use the sounds of Superior Drummer for my recordings. I usually play all the instruments and sing by default, since I don't have a regular band I play with. Thanks for the kind words, Cindy!

I really dig the song! I like the guitar jazz intro, and the way the bass and drums come in. I like your voice. It does seem like a stream of consciousness but very loos and tight at the same time. I like the chorus with the syncopation too. The choice of chords is really nice there too. There is a lot of talent in this song! I wish I had your vocal ability... you really rock. This could be a hit. This is in the vein of Blues traveller and Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians. I like the Bass Solo to very Animal Logic. Extreme talent on the bass. Enjoyed.

Message In a Bottle (2012 edition) by Tony2008 1 month ago
@Dustwood Hey, thanks for dropping by, I am glad you downloaded it and honored you favored my version.
@Project__S Yes, the vocals were very very tuff for me to re-do. I was torn between doing something more risky, but I kept it like I do for the live version which is faithful to the Sting Vocal melody. I really enjoyed doing the Hot Rod Guitar parts with my Tele which I chose because Andy Summers has a Tele he used on that song. I wish I could use the Tele Bass that Sting had on it too... but oh, well...lol

@Henno I struggle with that, sometimes I do it like a wild man but most of the time I sing it like Sting did... Now it is enshrined in that version. But I do struggle with that issue for sure. And I love Sting's vocals anyway...

@livelargemusic Thanks for the kind comments! I am really glad you liked it. I do covers while I am writing new material to keep me motivated and to give me new creative inspiration. As I finish my first album coming to iTunes and beyond I will be doing more covers and some may pop up here. I always leave all my cover songs as free downloads for people to download. A gift for the people.

@pharmakeus You know I loves me SOME METAL for breakfast, lunch and dinner! lol

@Firesign I am glad you liked the production. I am always curious as to how people "hear" my music on their systems...My son says I mixed the vocals too low, but I seem to think they are just right... I guess they could be floated more on top of the music... but I like them where they are.

@abzwork I am glad you liked the "rawness" even in my one take inspirational fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants guitar work. Thanks for the rating and favoring the song too!

@AngeloA Yeah, you should check the original out. I put the link in the comments above. Please enjoy it.

@KCsGROOVE I am glad you dig the the Vocal melodies, that was what originally attracted me to the song, the beautiful melodies by James Mercer. But the guitar stuff and everything else is all made up by me and not like the original. I like how I played the acoustic guitar solo like an electric guitar (in the touch and feel) that was surprising to me.

@pharmakeus I think this song will be a regular guest in my live show. I just need to figure if I will play bass or guitar live on it... Both are too much fun! ReValver is really proving to be a very valuable tool for my guitar in the studio. I really enjoyed doing the drums too on this song. They are very Keith Moon feeling to me in the fills. In fact the music is kinda retro '60s tex/mex feel too it. I learned a lot doing this tune as part of my life time musical education journey. I am glad you liked it! Very honored.

I like the instrumental mix here. All the instruments are well placed in the soundscape. I like the tones of the acoustic guitar. The chords changes are well done too. Nice mellow beginning. Good key. Somber tones and builds nicely. I like the strings when they come in. To me it sounds like something on the Windham Hill label circa 1982. But the build towards the end sounds very much like a Stephen Spielberg movie orchestration, like The Goonies ( I love the Goonies) or more at home with E.T. style sounds. Very nice work. The title is what go me interested in this song. I like the collective mythology. RIDE THE BUS OF THE DEAD!!! I almost wanted to see Zombies on it too...lol I love the lead breaks. This is hard working man rock but with a little tongue and cheek. The bridge break where you see the person is great imagery and the music really conveys the point. I would love to take another ride on that bus soon! It almost has a gritty feel like those grind house movies that Quentin Tarantino did a while back. Very well played.
