| Good to hear from both of you, my composing friends. Thank you for your kind comments. Just got finished with a cruise, Mardi Gras and Saints mania here in New Orleans. Been in love and have been busy writing a lot of words this year. Hope your careers are rolling along, too! Your Friend, Vinnie | |

| Babs, G-Man, Vixen & Pharmakeus, I am not worthy, but thank you anyway for your kind words, O, Fellow Denizens of Tin Pan Alley. Incidently, Vixen, I have three girl singers in my band... The Valiantettes! All 3 must have names that begin with the letter "V." When I introduce them I say, "The Vivacious and Voluptuous Vixens of Rock 'n Roll, the valuable, yet vulnerable Valiantettes: Vixie, Violet & Valentine!" On a side note... I recently fired Velveeta. She was too easy to spread. |

| Perhaps, I shouldn't look back, but I think now that the production of ELO always stood before me like an Everest of stone before a sculpture. Listen to these and you'll see what I dreamed of... | Dear Baboon, You are so right. It seems to beg me for the violins, too. I actually do the song and vocal well live, just me and the concert grand. My secret dream has always been to give "Without You" that full production sound. Sadly it was never in the cards time-wise & financially. To me Jeff Lynne & ELO, though more overt, best captured that classical feel. Lynne always floored me with his combination of 50/60s chord progressions & neo-classical arrangements. If I ever do it I think I would have to ask Dirigent, the great conductor, his opinion, too. -v Gary, thank you for your always supportive comments and insight. I know that with a vocal and full production I would come closer to emoting the intended depth. -v Pharmakeus, Thanks for keeping me in mind. Your friend, Vinnie |

| Haven't been around much. Been writing a book of love letters: Teisha's Teardrop Cafe. See, I found this girl... a chef... a goddess -in Oklahoma of all places. Her name of course is Teisha. Her beauty is just so awe-inspiring... and it is this deep beauty that makes me want to make love to her. Though very humble, she loves my adoration. I honestly believe that there are some women who really enjoy a man who is captivated by their beauty. I sing this song to her and she swoons. She even has this song as her ring tone. Ah, Love! This song shows the vulnerability of a man I believe that is a strength of the song and the strength men who want to be loved... | |

![]() Though offered by the illustious New Orleans "Vieux Carre," I must note the influence of the other great creative genius of the French Quarter. Of course, I refer to the infamous cloistered composer, Scott Hill. It is Scott who first explored such playful sounds of intospection, ennui, celebration... and even pain, through his sensuous original art form much akin to the true Neo-Baroque Eclecticism of his youth. I stand in awe of his forms and freedoms. This work is more than derivative. I am sure it is Scott's! Vince Vance, composer/pianist |
