Listened to most of your stuff, I think this is my favorite, the slightly off-kilter drum is excellent. Where do you get your drum samples? not just for this but all your tracks have some really crisp and tight drum sounds the likes of which simply don't exist in GB.

Some of the transitions in this are a little wobbly, but in the greater picture it's pretty fresh nonetheless.

I do like this, but it is missing something. The whole track sounds like a preparation for something. It all sounds like building, I'm waiting for it to bust out into some insanity breakbeats, but it never does. It has a great vibe, and I would definitely drive to it(my standard for good dnb) But, I feel like it could really use some massive break+chaos factored somewhere in the middle. Some real intensifying. Maybe that's just my personal preference though. Like, it does build up in intensity, but it never really busts loose, if you know what I mean?

Make A Move by TripleCamp 4 years ago
Your flow is decent and the beat is tight, but your voice is pretty lame, no offense intended, but like... it's just hard to take it seriously, like, taking it as a joke track I can appreciate it more, but if you're actually being serious, you should really work on how you sound, because it's just kinda silly to hear a voice like that talking the things you're talking about.

I remember writing a chemistry rap in 10th grade, teacher gave me something like 100 extra credit points. It insured I got an A+ in that class. Good times. I got an A for being cute.

I really dig the guitar playing(some nice chords), the singing/lyrics kind of fall flat for me, but it's still a cool song.

I really dislike the synth in the beginning. It doesn't sit right for me. But I love these rhythms, very groovy and they sound great. The mixing is a little bit weird though, the drums could come up a bit if you ask me. What are you using to mic the percussion?

It's the synths that make it kind of hard to listen to, I think they could be tweaked and/or blended better with the mix to be less jarring. I'm really loving the rhythmic feel though, great stuff there.

whoa! radical coincidence. My sound was turned off but iTunes had been playing in the background, when I turned my sound on your song and the song that was playing in iTunes started playing simultaneously. The song that was playing... "kalimba story" by Earth Wind and Fire. smiley

I really dig this track!! great atmospheres, great rhythms! excellent groove, well put together. Awesome stuff dude! The only thing I can say criticism wise is that some of the changes are a little jarring and kind of obscured. But, other than that it's totally rad.

Live percussion? I would love to collaborate with you on a track if you have anything on the platter.

FEEL by TEXASFEEL 4 years ago
I find a hard time finding the FEEL to this song. The vocals are excellent, the guitar is happening. But the groove just... it's lacking! hard to put my finger on, but it's lacking a certain thumpy tightness that would totally rock. It's still cool, Just, maybe retrack the drums and bass, and/or reconsider how they are mixed.

This has a nice smooth vibe to it. I don't know if I like the drum loops all that much, but whatever. It's still groovy.

Very nice. Maybe the vocals are a little too effected though. also there are a couple of weird timing quirks with the drums here and there. But on the whole it's solid. Good stuff.

This is all loops(I recognize some of them)? If so, it is a very good example of how loops can be used in unobtrusive ways. You've got a really nice vibe going here. Some of the transitions between parts are a little rough, and some elements stick out here and there in a weird way, but overall, it's groovy. This needs a melody. It's also really friggin long, but it's easy to listen to so that's forgivable. The second half basically sucks though(from where the guitar loop comes in). You went from having a nice atmosphere to just throwing a bunch of random loops together and it sounds... pretty bad. You could stand to cut out 4 minutes of this beast, maybe more, refine it a little, give it a killer melody, and you'd have something really neat.
CybeRun and Rest by hate03 4 years ago

Some of those synths are a little bit dense and difficult to swallow, but otherwise, there is a nice little groove you got going, I can dig it. It needs a strong melody and/or more variation with the synth/drum work. It's difficult to listen to due to the denseness of some of the parts, but it's still a neat vibe. The second half is pretty fun. Nice tension building, the density of the synths works well here. It can't build forever though, You build so much tension in the second half, you really have to resolve it, that would be killer. The ending is weak.

Well, it's not bad, but those pads are pretty cheesy. This sounds really familiar, are they loops? I don't use loops very often... I'm not that familiar with all of them.
Mario by schumacher 4 years ago

Nice splicing of mario SFX, though some of them seem out of place. Everyone and their mother does a mario remix, so the concept is played out to the max, especially since you didn't really do anything all that fresh with it. But still, who doesn't love mario? There are some minor timing quirks here and there, but on the whole it sounds good.
The Beginning of an Era by schumacher 4 years ago

There are some timing issues that kind of hurt the groove in a traditional sense, but other than that it's nice. Personally, I've been experimenting with many 'off' feels, so the timing issues don't really bug me, but you shouldn't be too hesitant to use quantize here and there.

Nice guitar solo, totally daft punk.

Lame ending though, just when the song is building up again that ending kinda ruins the momentum.

Phew, sounds great.

Except, you're hiding your voice behind that 'verb, I'd tone it down just a touch.
Belize Harps in A by PupDoc 4 years ago
Maybe it's my quicktime messing up playback, but there seem to be some really poorly done cuts and punch-ins that seriously detract from this otherwise really nice piece.
Cayman Breeze by PupDoc 4 years ago
There are some weird dissonant bits with that high pitched bell thing. I'm feeling it's place, but the notes clash with the underlying piano quite a bit, really hurts the overall mood of the track, imo.
Love Honey by georgeh 4 years ago
Yea man, I can dig it. it's good except, I don't know if I like that synthy swirl thing. Also, there are all these weird pops and cuts throughout the thing, I'm assuming those were punch in spots? or did the program burp while recording?
Battle by samtheman 4 years ago
No... I'm not really sensing battle here. Maybe like a final boss type battle. Otherwise it feels like... climbing a big tower, maybe the tower that leads up to the boss battle. smiley

Momment of jazz by Kine 4 years ago
I think the groove you establish in the beginning is pretty solid, but I feel like it really wants to go somewhere. Like, I heard some smooth piano melody coming in on top of those chords, then turning into a nice solo. yea.... I mean, it's still groovy, I guess it's just that loops-only thing, kinda gets weary.

Untitled by SDjunglist 4 years ago
It's like I'm feeling it, but I'm not feeling it. I think it's a nice track, but I would put some more effort into making the synths a little bit more distinct and/or blended. They sound kinda cheesy for the intro.

Once the groove kicks in though, it gets a lot better.

It's cool though, I dig it.

I can dig it. There are a couple spotty moments here and there, but hey, no big deal, they don't detract from the track as a whole. I agree that you shouldn't hide your voice with so much reverb and such, It would really be more powerful(imo) if the reverby panned voices were more there to enforce the main vocal lead. But, it's a groovy tune, I enjoyed it.

Sounds very much like autechre. Some of the ambience in the back is a little muddled and overstated, kinda drowns out some of the subtle bits of the track. Other than that, it's well constructed and well mixed.

I really like the drum sound, is that a GB drum if so which one? and what did you do to it?
Revolution of a bike ride. by AimlessScene 5 years ago

The piano is really weak, where it could be a strong hook and driving force of the song, both aurally and mix wise it's just not doing it for me. The vocals are mixed pretty well, though they could probably be a little thicker... richer or something like that. Actually, Most of the sounds are pretty weak. This would be a stronger piece if you took some steps to de-midi it. By that I mean, tinker with the sounds and HOW you use the sounds, to try and make it sound less computer built and more organic. Well, that's just my opinion, I think it would be much stronger if I felt like I didn't know where the sounds came from. It's not bad though.

It's not bad. Reminds me of myself a couple years ago, I used to record little ditties like that, they'd generally be fairly sloppy, and not too pristine but it was still fun, and I can dig it. It would have been a lot more fun if you kicked in some GB drums during the track. Just to get it to groove a little bit harder.

Very nice. Lots going on, but never feels too busy. There were a couple sounds here and there that I didn't like that much, but in general everything fit really well, so it didn't really matter. Definitely enjoyed it.

Somehow this does remind me of an elevator. But like, it'd be an elevator leading into a factory of evil, or at least a factory of ill-intentioned machines. Some of the loops are a little forced feeling, but generally it's groovy and fun. I really like that synth line that comes in near the beginning.

The piece definitely picks up very nicely. All in all, very enjoyable.

There are a couple of weak parts, timing seems to stutter a little here and there, which is kind of like tripping on the battlefied(big no no!) But it sounds good otherwise. The horns could sound better...but what are you going to do. *shrug*

Funny how you liken it to mario. As I listen to this I am reminded of the Video game Lufia and the Fortress of doom. It's a good track though, some elements are a little weak, but on the whole it has a nice vibe.
You Hate Me (Re-worked) by JHarley 5 years ago

It's not mixed very well. Well, it is, but it isn't some things are mixed fairly well, but the music is way loud and the vocals are barely audible. Also sounds like too much of it is panned dead center, spread it out across the R and L a bit, open it up some. Other than that, it sounds good, well constructed.
