PS I don't think it is too difficult for amateurs at all (depends on the amateur; and I've heard some appalling professional performances of it, full of swooping and everything that's bad): but it does need superior breath control, that's what makes it a killer  |

| I think Azucena's music is very under-rated. This is a bit fast for me, but I like the way you resist what many mezzos do, and make her too heavy. The end of Trovatore is one of the most spine-chilling moments in opera for me: when she comes in with the hollow broken triad theme which accompanies the desperate lovers. | |
