Thanks. The drums are a mix. Half loops and half being played in by hand. I played in all the fills and some of the snare. |

| Danman4961: "great use of that bass loop" Heh, just had to respond to this - it's not a bass loop, I played all the bass in by hand. ![]() Thanks for the comments all, I appreciate it. Keep on funkin'! |

Thanks for the comments, everybody. As much as I'd like to take full credit for the song, it really goes to the loops. They're very good. As Michael said above, it's almost too easy. I got the funky baseline of the song (i.e. the bass and drum loops) by simply dragging them into the song. That was it. Then I just mixed and matched with various synth, string and pad loops. Really, I'd love to be able to say "yeah, I'm just that good", but it's these loops that are just that good. ![]() |

| Thanks very much for the comments! Dita, I agree - having listened to it a bunch more times since I uploaded it, I think I made the vocals a bit too weak. But thanks for listening! | |

| iDrum Test Song by Xaqtly | 7 years ago |
| Exactly, I did this to go along with the review which hasn't been posted yet. It's just to demonstrate what iDrum sounds like, basically. | |
| Mercy Street by Xaqtly | 7 years ago |
| Thanks... I have 6 vocal tracks, only 5 of them are used for most of the song. | |
| Mercy Street by Xaqtly | 7 years ago |
| Thanks! Yeah, I played all the music except for a couple loops... the surdu sound and a shaker sound. I played everything else in myself. | |
| Groove by saxman | 7 years ago |
![]() This is fantastic, man. Excellent, excellent music. I like the vocals myself, sounds like George Benson. This is definitely one of the best songs up in here. |

| GB Funk by Xaqtly | 7 years ago |
| Haha, thanks! I appreciate the comments. Honestly it's because I'm too busy in real life to devote as much time as I'd like to making songs. Believe me, I'd love to do more of them. I am working on three more right now, the problem is that they all take me a long time to do, but hopefully I'll have them up sonner rather than later. | |

| Thanks for the comments everybody! This song was great fun to make, I'm glad you all enjoyed it. | |
| Loopy Goodness by Xaqtly | 7 years ago |
| Oh, sorry about that... I didn't even realize that had been cut off until you mentioned it. This is the only "loops only" song I'll do most likely, but it was fun to see what might be possible without using any other input. | |
| Stand Up by Benny33T | 7 years ago |
![]() The only real issue I have is that it probably could have used a key change somewhere in there - but other than that I really liked it! Nice job. |

| I know I already rated this one a while back, but I listened to it again and it's just awesome. I love it. To date, this is the only song I've downloaded from iCompositions to put in my personal collection. | |

| VERY cool. Good use of the medium! Nice layering and texturing, good construction and a good mix. I like this song a lot. More please! | |
| Nose Flute Dance by Andy Joe | 7 years ago |
| This song rocks! You got some talent on that nose flute dude, haha. Very nice with the vocals, harmonica, flute and guitar. Very enjoyable to listen to, very uplifting. | |
| GB Funk by Xaqtly | 7 years ago |
Me too, but unfortunately I can't play bass. I played all the bass in the song on my MIDI keyboard. There's just no way to make a bass solo sound good on a keyboard, haha. |

| Matt Quit the Band by stefanopolis | 7 years ago |
| Like the rockafella song, the timing is odd, loops starting and stopping at odd intervals, and you mixed major and minor loops together in this one as well, creating disharmony. You should try to either go with major or minor loops and stick with them rather than mixing them together. | |
| The Rockafella by stefanopolis | 7 years ago |
| There some odd timing going on. The loops are starting and stopping at random intervals and more than one of the loops you tossed in is disharmonious with the others, at one point you mixed a major and a minor loop together. Near the end it sounds like you've got 7 guitarists playing 7 different songs. So it's muddy and not very cohesive but it's not a bad start. You just have to determine when various sounds are conflicting and when they aren't. | |
| When Robots Dream by Xaqtly | 7 years ago |
| Thanks! RicP, the drums are intentionally distorted, if that's what you were referring to, and it does sound like they're clipping a bit. Also, the reason I did the ending the way I did was because this song is what it sounds like when a robot is dreaming - and that bit at the end is what it sounds like when he's awake. I did this with that robot in the icon for this song in mind, that drum loop just made me think of those little toy robots walking around. Cheesy and silly yes, but that's why I did it like that. ![]() |

| Oh My God by EminentBliss | 7 years ago |
| Actually I think this is more complex than mine was. I like it, nice job with the compression and the arrangements. It sounds like you put a lot of work into it. | |
| When Robots Dream by Xaqtly | 7 years ago |
| Thanks! Well let's see. The song has two loops from the Access Virus free loop collection, Effected Drum Kit 32, Abstract Atmosphere 150, Shaker 01 and Effected Drum Kit 28. The rest is either vocals or software instruments I played in. The song has 14 tracks. | |
| When Robots Dream by Xaqtly | 7 years ago |
| Thanks. Yeah, I might take the remix stick to it, I wanted to try some other percussion stuff anyway. | |
| GB Funk by Xaqtly | 7 years ago |
| Thanks! Just FYI, everything in this song is either a loop or me playing my midi keyboard. I played the guitar and bass in using the keyboard. | |
| More Cowbell by RicP | 7 years ago |
| If anything, it needs MORE cowbell! | |
| Funkalicious by funkalicious | 7 years ago |
| This is really good. It's not the easiest thing to make a really cohesive piece of music using only loops, but I think you pulled it off. Nice attention to detail and I really appreciated how you didn't overload it with loops, and you mixed it up. Well done. Also - it is, in fact, funkalicious. | |

| I like what you did with the groove in this one, and I like the ambient stuff. | |
| Flowin Keys by nishkabob | 8 years ago |
| Not bad at all for being just loops. I like how you mixed them up. | |
| Big Yawn by toots | 8 years ago |
| Gorgeous song. Very nice. | |
| Pocket Purse by zootdaze | 8 years ago |
| I liked it, but it seemed to go on for a real long time with not a lot of variety. The vocal bits were good though. | |
| Sweet Corn by zootdaze | 8 years ago |
| Nice work. I thought the music was a little muddy at times and seemed to lose its focus but you have a great voice and the lyrics had me laughing. Definitely nice work. | |
| Ode to Joe by clayman | 8 years ago |
| This is really good, quite a departure from the normal loop based stuff. Good job. | |
| XpressURself by themactech | 8 years ago |
| I love this song. I have Reason too, but this blows away anything I've done in it. Excellent. | |
| Last Call by macsnob | 8 years ago |
| Yep, that's some good stuff. Very mellow. | |
| Soul Brother (Praise the Lord) by iConvicted | 8 years ago |
| Very nice, I liked how you chopped up some of the loops. Nice upbeat feel. | |
| Acoustic_Journey by jusvistin | 8 years ago |
| This one gets a rare 9 from me. Very nicely done, excellent production values, great job with the percussion and the variety. | |
| The Kam Tin Jazz House by plastic | 8 years ago |
| I like this one a lot. Sounded like there was some very careful and thoughtful loop manipulation, very understated, and it added greatly to the overall sound. Good job. | |
| Seven Empty Cans of Fanta by pmdboi | 8 years ago |
| I really like this song. Are the drums an included loop in GB or Jam Pack, or did you do it yourself? It's minimalistic but effective. Nice job. | |
| Fly by dreadford | 8 years ago |
| Very nice! Good vocals and a smooth composition. | |
| stepped on by unclechoochoo | 8 years ago |
| This one had some nice variety in it, and some nice changes. Now bigger and better! More instruments, just don't overload it. Keep adding and subtracting different loops to keep it interesting. And try some key changes to switch things up. | |
| the morning after by unclechoochoo | 8 years ago |
| It's a nice idea, but you should have taken it further. Add more instruments, create a break, change keys in the middle, etc. | |
| Joyride by Daniel | 8 years ago |
| Pretty good. Little repetitive I thought, but not bad. | |
| Spike by Daniel | 8 years ago |
| I liked this one. It ended up being a little repetitive but I like the overall feel. | |
| Secret Agent Chill Factor by plastic | 8 years ago |
| Pretty good, nice use of different drum and guitar loops to segment the song. | |
| Back to 8 by matt5115 | 8 years ago |
| Pretty good. There was some disharmony when a couple of the loops combined but overall a good effort. Enough variety to keep me interested. | |
| The Sun's Beat by matt5115 | 8 years ago |
| Not bad, I liked it though it could have used a bit more variety. | |
| Live at Hammersmith by CygnusX1 | 8 years ago |

| Sweet Sweet Groovin by Zach545 | 8 years ago |
I like the beat and the groove, but next time throw some chord changes in there ![]() |
|
| Midnight_Dream by maf286 | 8 years ago |
| Nice use of loops to create a melody line, I like the chord changes. | |
| No Regrets by liquidg3 | 8 years ago |
| I give it an 8 because while the vocals are excellent the rest of the song could use some fleshing out. It has a nice hook though, and you could probably just add a few more instruments to it to make it sounds really good. | |
