Biography
I was born in Jersey City, NJ in 1956 - considered to be the same year as the birth of Rock-n-Roll. I've been doing music either full or part time my whole life. I never interned. My first session was a FULL SWING BAND with HORNS and all. At this time I was still an assistant and when the head engineer never showed up, the owner said, "Tom I need a little favor." After that I never looked back. Unfortunately my promotion came at a terrible price. The head engineer had fallen asleep with a lit cigarette...need I say more.
Later on, I started doing dance music for Joey Gardner (Cover Girls) and Tony Moran (Artist/Producer). Then came other engineering opportunities with Jon Secada, Mandy Moore, Redman, Method Man, Eric Sermon, Dave Hollister, Lisa Lopes, Maya, Stutterin' John and onwards and upwards. Shortly before a major heart attack In 2003 (which forced me into semi-retirement), I helped found AlanaTomiC Producing and Publishing and The CUBE studio/label. The first release by artist, Alana Burner, is available at CD Baby. This Enhanced CD includes both music and artsy video. She is the Alana in AlanaTomiC.
Alana Burner and I met in a studio 20 years ago and have been together ever since. She is the singuarly most talented person I know. A mix of "need to create" matched only by mine. We have written 50 or so songs together, some finished, others in progress and some just waiting for a little magic to give it a life it's own. We let the music start us up and then we don't stop till we drop. She has an amazing voice and can blend in with almost any type of sound or singer's style.
You can find bits and pieces from the Alana Burner CD at: www.atthecube.com- Enjoy. It's all done out of love for music and to have fun. If it's not fun I won't do it.
We are currently re-building "THE CUBE" again and again and after years of aquisitions we have a new location. We are aiming higher this time around, so it is taking longer. We are re-inventing AlanaTomiC or actually re-energizing it. Rebuilding will widen the scope ofAlanaTomiC/The Cube, doing the business of music in a new way. Publishing and releasing other artists is now part of our dream. We will continue to release Alana's wonderful music while branching out, spreading our knowledge and studio services. Stay tuned and read the newer Blogs to keep updated at www.atthecube.com
To all, we wish success and good fortune.
Love to all you Love and More,
Alana and Tom
