I grew up in the Annapolis area of Maryland, being constantly exposed and influenced by the Appalachian culture of the nearby mountains. So most of my music is styled by the string bands and bluegrass from that area. As of now however, I find myself teaching English in Thailand, and so has begun a weird mix of musical genres. Oriental music in an Appalachian setting. Who knows if it will go anywhere, it did for some people such as Abigail Washburn!
