i had a moment of recollection... there are these crazy art noisers who record the sounds of cells and then play strange instruments over the top. i'm not sure if this helps... but all i can say is that my best thoughts are colliding with yours all the way from australia. this is why we have music... for dark times as well as light.

absolutely freaking awesome! what an epic you have here!

some reminiscence of brian jonestown massacre, clever integrations of elements, a headtwisting super enjoyable journey.
Only Human by Toni1 4 years ago
a very sweet piece, clean with alot of space. your vocal phrasing is just lovely. I do think that if you re-phrased your lyrics you could REALLY blow us away! Your vocal quality deserves great words to sing!

DJP if you knew anything about experimental music you would know that "music" and "vocals" don't need to go together... that is the nature of it! this is meant as an installation piece to be exhibited with imagery... part of my practice is subverting the "form" of "song" in order to highlight the tensions between a textual and thematic reading... also the sense of "unease" is essential to the piece

but then again if you knew anything about experimental music you would know that...

i don't know if this is from the future or from the past, it's definately from somewhere left of a shared psychosis, across the road from a sense of inertia.... stay tuned
The Birds Are All Around You by alanatomic 5 years ago
wow, very interesting for me to see how someone else interprets the soundscape visually. the piece was originally made for an installation of paintings that all had a "birdish" theme.... very nasty indeed.

cheers tom, you get my mind buzzing again

RR, I have in no way sold out to anyone... hmmm maybe there is someone out there pretending to be me! Poor them, I wonder if they have to put up with the rest of being me as well! If I ever do sell out, it'll be to fuel a gloriously over-indulgent cocaine habit which I will develop after getting stupidly famous for doing not much.

UnFound by AspersionDetergent 5 years ago
fab experimental/grind/electroclashing noise! whew! evil bits here and there mixed up with lushness in spots.... such a rich sound fabric! loved it (i don't know where the hell i went, but it was very, very fast... like fragments of thoughts, the only thing i could liken it to visually would be those seconds before you faint and you see everything rush past)
demolition urge by birdsonic 5 years ago
thanks for comments... it is hard to write music/words about these things... but i find it helps me... and if other people identify with my tunes.... i have done the right thing by sharing them

Everyday Warfare by ThePondermatic 5 years ago
okay.... i like the idea, and with your permission i'd like birdmix it... message me if you're interested

don't know if it's my headphones but i think you either have mastered it too loud or some of the parts are mixed too loud.... so you're getting distortion

best name is "everyday warfare" and if you let me have my way with it you'll get a song based around that theme (by the way i don't give stars... it's against my religion)
when i was... by birdsonic 5 years ago
funny, i had this on my ipod (as i autofill everyday), plugged it in at my friend's house and didn't realise it was actually my music for awhile and i was thinking "oh what a cool song" talk about shameless self promotion!

i love it that you keep experiementing and pushing boundaries... where does art finish and music begin? what is the difference between digital information that is visual, and that which is aural.... i love it! AND not being usually a star giver i will give it 5 stars for concept!!! excellent
Electrozak no. 25-tie your shoes-system 7 program-no loopers by electrOwOOd32 5 years ago
i love your plug in and play approach.... reminds me of days of yore making as much noise as possible with as many bits as we could find, and hours later after driving the housemates crazy we'd listen back and go "we are brilliant!!!!"

best thing about this is that it gives electro that warmth that overly polished stuff lacks..... wickety wak!

If Only... by jolofsson 5 years ago
wow you really are on that 80's comeback trip... no complaints here. kind of new order-ish (and trust me that's a huge compliment from me). i liked the vocal processing in the middle bits...
Hurt by etgilles 5 years ago
i always loved johnny cash's version of this song (and basically just anything by johnny cash), never been real keen on NIN... it's slightly menacing and a little off kilter, i dig that...

Forever Young by jolofsson 5 years ago
interesting... i like your cover way more than the current "Youth Group" cover of this song that is floating around australia @ the moment (has been number 1 on and off for awhile, they are selling out their shows etc etc). the vocal treatments are great and give a different flavour to the song.

I Dream of Doomsday by RichardRinger 5 years ago
again that spacemen3/spiritualised feeling. i love the droning etc and the darkness, and the scarey echoes....kind of like walking aorund after a disaster. then that change... like when bowie would leave you thinking about something rather tahn making a grav for cash...
Stuck in a Shed by RichardRinger 5 years ago
spiritualised meets the chipmunks!!! on acid, with john lennon pointing and laughing!
Bad Fonzie by RichardRinger 5 years ago
this is so dark and nasty... great!
a new wave by birdsonic 5 years ago
thanks hellmet, i really do appreciate your opinion. i guess i made it "new wave" as an ironic sort of comment on just how apathetic we are.... (note the lyrics!!!) in the face of an ever more frightening planet! having been part of "gen ecstacy" and witnessing/experienencing the subsequent mental health issues makes me wonder how we are even going to be able keep our self indulgent and lazy selves together mentally let alone rise up and fight against injustices!!!

oh yeah i will be in touch about remixing!!
Love Belongs to Us by Didier 5 years ago
totally good! i too had a john lennon flashback, your vocal stylings are superb! funky without being over blown and self-indulgent and a bit of rock sensibility thrown in for good measure.

TalkSick by AspersionDetergent 5 years ago
i agree about some of the levels... and maybe a sharper sound in parts.... of course i love everything over processed tho'. i would extend this piece with some space, maybe a starker sound to really bring out some of the more interesting elements
chocolate (new and improved?) by birdsonic 5 years ago
oskr.... you tell tippy she's very naughty and if she ever wants me to play live then no more bad star ratings... you both know for a fact I AM A STAR!!!

Jack of all trades master of none by Lapskin 5 years ago
i like the industrial sounds... (even recognised a few heheheh). i would have cut up different movements in the piece a bit more to create some more varierty

pure evil... excellent

bit like that throbbing gristle stuff when they really let loose having a fight with atari teenage riot
joyless by birdsonic 5 years ago
yes honestly just bass... i have been playing bass very "experimentally" for a long time... combine this with an awesome FX mixing desk and GB's built in processing... and there you have it.... 7 "basslines" 1 drum loop = birdmix pop muzak

Now You... by AspersionDetergent 5 years ago
i do like the experiemental craziness of this.... a bit of a hard listen but worth persisting. i love your industrial sounds... maybe check out some thug (early 80's experimental, australian) probably rare to find overseas but can arrange for you to have it (tehe), bet you love NIN too! (early stuff of course)... we should hook up musically sometime

I'm Not Here by urbnite 5 years ago
i like the neil young vibe here, and you do have a lovely vulnerability in your "sadness". lyrically "hiding within a sleepwalking grin" gets my vote! am now inspired to get out the guitar and play some of my old torch songs...
chocolate (new and improved?) by birdsonic 5 years ago
as to the loop factor... mostly loops except for me singing of course and some random bits of noise scattered about from a bad lead and a DD3 pedal (noise = self indulgent but fun). this track was mainly made before i got an audio interface
love will tear us apart by andehlu 5 years ago
i love joy division and cite them as a massive influence in my work (along with suicide of course). i'm sorry to ever say a bad thing about other people's stuff but mate.... a countryesque cover of JD? arrrghghrghrgrhrh!!!!!!! wrong wrong wrong!!! usually i like a country overtone, but this time... no! meanwhile i like your guitar, but please don't put it to such sacreligious use next time!

ps. i'm sorry to be mean... but it's JD man!
a slender shade of fine by myopic 5 years ago
you are a lovely writer! this one got me on the lyrics... and your music/production is beautiful too! i also think you have broken through emotionally in a way that few of the songs i have come across on this site have...(if that makes sense?).thankyou for a song that tells the other side of the story...
The Madness Within ( dance remix!) by WRG 5 years ago
such drama!!! and you can dance to it "interpretive style". i like the jazzy overtones, and the movement in the piece.... nice.
