Biography
When I got my first laminated Yamaha (FG-75) in 1969, I was already heavily addicted to Brit Invasion and U.S. psychedelia. More influences? Top 40 transistor radio hits, which gave way to the birth of FM. Examples: Sly & the Family Stone, a heavy Zep and "prog" addiction in the '70s (remember Nektar?) and jazz before "fusion" became a dirty word and "smooth jazz" neutered it for the masses (IMHO). Love Thelonius Monk for having our imagination play the notes between his lines. Only "smooth" I really love is Chet Baker. Best band today: Wilco. Best band of the 1980s? Rockpile, short lived as they were. (Lowe lives on). Best rustic diety? John Prine.
I lack the chops and literacy to play the music in my head, so really I remain a loyal "everhacker." Get the 411 on my axes, gear, bio and links (blogs, YouTube, etc., etc., at my iWeb Virtual Garage.
Click here for my last 100 comments. And yes, I'm woefully time-starved to make more listening time here.

P.S.: I'm all looped out - always seeking a human drummer.
P.P.S.: Seeking to trade my Martin D-28 for a smaller acousti-beater.

Bad poetry inspired by the goings-on at The Politics Thread. It's about the people--not the issues--who come and go, in particular, a tribute to the fallen ranting heroes I've missed in recent days...

| Getting Live-Band Energy into the Home Studio | February 28, 2008 |
Sentenced to the 'solitary refinement' of the home-studio, how's a guitarist supposed to get fluffed-up gonzo? (Relates to click here to my "drummer needed" forum post and a longer version of this post - dated Feb. 28, 2008 - at Farmer Bob's Emporium of Ubicultural Apocalyptica.
