| Hey, thanks for listening as always – the acoustic version must wait till I can lay it down right, guitar's not my main instrument anymore! |

| Mitigated Machinesong Take 3 (Extended) by bobboblobbo | 2 years ago |
| Hey, thanks! These are borderline loops – that is, they are not the readymades that come with Garageband. Rather, I assembled this with Garageband's midi function, but then made sections with that that I sped up and slowed down, and transposed. So not quite a live thing, but neither just a loop assemblage. |

| Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally (Instrumental) by Ausdude | 3 years ago |
| This has some rather unusual flavours, to put it one way. The echo-y voice and the contrast of the piano with the Drum & guitar riff were interestind. | |
| Calimba System (9 Feb 2009) by bobboblobbo | 3 years ago |
| Thanks! Oh, I've developed two small calluses, one on each thumb, by now (they even smell a bit metallic after each playing session). Kalimbas are good fun to play! I should really get a better mike to record the kalimba with – some of the sound quality is lost by using the iBook mike. |

| Trois Gnossiennes Part 1 by aspaff | 3 years ago |
| Interesting improvisation on the Oud instrument in the last section. I'm usually finicky about variations on Satie, but there were a couple of interesting interactions between the chord changes and the superimposed melody. |

| Hey, Thanks for the great comments! I'm glad the music was enough to fool your kids, even if for a second ![]() Lovely piece, by the way, I like how the bass synth occasionally approaches a drum-like technique |

| In fact the playing is very bad - kindly don't listen until I get a new version up, if I do | |
| faux fur (leelanau county) by margoli13 | 3 years ago |
| I most like the beginning and ending bits - the arpeggios were lovely, they reminded me of Meredith Monk, and other 20th Century composers whose names are not quite on the tip of my tongue currently. You should improvise more! I mean - you have the technical fluidity to make it sound completely pre-composed, which is most admirable. |

|
| Gnossienne No. 3 by feenixx | 4 years ago |
| Hm - interesting version. It is a bit odd that you truncated the melodic line in the middle (when the song has transposed to e minor), you know that arpeggio bit (it's very frustrating to type about music without being able to hum about it) – normally that's one of my favourite bits as it can be dizzying with its shifting accents, although returning abruptly a bit later does make this version stand out in that way. In the past I've been a classical music pedant – now having moved on, I must say I like this. By the way, thanks for the kind comments - keep on playing and listening ![]() |

| incidentally: I have just realised that this piece needs good headphones or good bass in a stereo to sound right. | |
| DRUM SOLO WITH DUCKS! & PIGS ! by EdPeahota | 4 years ago |
| Ducks, glass and the pig were great ideas! Although the explosions were surprising - curiously they blend in a bit into the drum sound. | |
| Delhi Kaida Dance (rough) by bobboblobbo | 4 years ago |
| Ah woops, didn't make that clear I transposed the tabla bols to more or less similar sounds on the gamelan the high stroke "na" becomes a high reyong, that is tiny horizontal bowl "TiTa" and "Ti", muted strokes on the high tabla, become a sound effect i made from a can to sound like a muted reyong, called in english 'pulse' "Tun", open stroke on the high drum, becomes a lower xylophone-like instrument's note on the gamelan. "ka", muted stroke on the bass tabla, becomes a muted drum sound i made from hitting a piece of cardboard. "Ge", and all its variants, that is, open stroke on the bass drum, becomes different varieties of gongs - sounds like a bass line, but in fact reflects the modulations done by the player on the bass tabla. I used samples from different sizes of gongs for this purpose. I actually do play tabla, not excellently, but don't've them with me at the moment. but in any case, the experiment was transposition of the pattern. |

| Peacherine Rag (1901) by georgeptingley | 4 years ago |
| Lovely! I have only heard the entertainer before hearing this - I take it this is a version with live piano playing? The instrument quality is too good to be a midi, &c. However, there is something curious about the right hand dynamics - but I am not very conversant with ragtime, so i might just not be used to the technique. Anyway, please do keep producing! |

| Gnossienne 7 (E. Satie) by ChristopherAllen | 5 years ago |

| Pyro Pyro Level 3 - Ancient Ruins by bobboblobbo | 5 years ago |
| Thanks, ukkixi! About three other pieces on this theme (video game music) are soon to be put up, too | |
| Discontent (2 of 5, Adverse Elements) by becwil | 5 years ago |
| I like the contrast between the main idea and the other elements - sounds like a sound collage - very delicately done, which is interesting, as the transitions are disorienting enough to be interesting in that way, without losing the listener. | |
| rapid eye movemnt by spooky_driver | 5 years ago |
| The backwards groove was very well done, methinks - great work! Piano melody bit halfway through sounded a bit tense, but that's just in the way the notes were laid out rythmically, which is always a subjective thing. Good work, and keep it up! |

| vnqpnvp by Stun_Nutz | 6 years ago |
| Great use of the percussion, dude! Especially the two-beat one that transposes a bit lower and then comes back up. I like the dissonant use of harmonies, and the percussive piano is very interesting. Indeed, I do like this very much |

| Requiem di un amore perduto (Requiem of a lost love) by GmGasTer | 6 years ago |

| Crazy Insane Too Much Time Song by oceanplexian | 6 years ago |
| bass and drums were quite good. The loops layered on top were good also, but could've been better. Overall, however, it was actually quite nice. |

| Ghost by Sheth | 6 years ago |

| Sister Moon and the Paper Joon (oh-no) by Matt Granz | 6 years ago |
| excellent drums! I love the build-up that happened. This is going in my favourites. | |
| Eleanor by gunk | 6 years ago |
| boy, I actually really like the main repeating ostinato pattern at the start. The way it is meshed with the other phrases is quite good. I'm split about the percussion, however. While it adds a nice groove, my own personal tastes tend to make me like somewhat more complex rythms (kind of like in Jazz and in percussion-based world music) In any case, however, I really like it. |
|
| Remember by Balok | 6 years ago |
| I agree that this is a very celtic-influenced piece (but perhaps in an indirect way? for example, second-hand through someone like Enya or another celtic-influenced artist.). I like the oboe-like thing at the start. At the second time it comes, it does something which sounds almost like a momentary key change, and also the rythmic pattern it introduces is an interesting contrast to what surrounds it. |

| I dreamnt Nintendo by lango | 7 years ago |
| In terms of nintendo, video game-style, I would say that the only thing like that here, really, is the (maybe tri-wave), bleepy instrument playing throughout. Then again, my view of video game music is different, perhaps. It is ok, but not in my interest sphere. | |

| Finally Waking by Drumsarehot | 7 years ago |
| I did like the textures of it. Though it lacks variation in a couple of places, it is an interesting idea (although I do not know if I am biased because I have a dream obsession, and your description captivated me.) However, it might be an approach of branching, as opposed to development, of musical ideas. |

| Reversable Centurion (The Song That Won't Die) by jobu | 7 years ago |
| I'll say what everybody rightly says (that this is very good; I don't even generally listen to rock and I really like it). also, this piece has a very arch-like feel, like walking on top of a giant painted oil drum on its side, with a correspondingly rotating background of night to day to night to day, cyclic city lifetime. |
|
| Johnny Stone Jingle by Andy Joe | 7 years ago |
| My favorite jingles were those that didn't use loops; they sounded more radioish and odd. Why did nobody else see this one until I did? If you post too many songs at once, some will inevitably get lost in the shuffle. | |

| ps: thanks to all the guys that wrote down nice things, and also to Neumuzik for being a considerate non-fan. | |
| Futurismo by bobboblobbo | 7 years ago |
| Well, whatever. Hope you enjoyed your moment of anonymous commentary. However, thinking about it, were it not for the last bit, it'd be an interesting commentary, as to a cat and a chase. Does it fit really? I found it more to do with lighting and other such things, but hey, that's me. Slightly stereotyped storyline about the cat, though. (interesting assumption that I do not know how to play. 'tis a common perception among the critics of each generation's new music that the more unconventional musicians do not know how to play their instruments, while it is just a lack of hegemony in the style of composition) |

| Fake Folk Music by bobboblobbo | 7 years ago |
| Why, thank you polyethylene guy (great name, I must admit). Why don't you post up some songs? I was trying to see what your compositions were like, but you haven't released any. It is weird that this composition is so popular; Most of the effort went into the mixing, where the structure was actually constructed. I guess its tone must be happier and lighter than that of my more formal pieces. |

|
| Love Alters Not/Demo by Dadai | 7 years ago |
![]() I would tend to agree with neumuzik in that I think that a musical adaptation would have to either take the poem's rythm and accent structure and use that as the base of a song, or adjust the poem to take in the structure that you have in mind. I liked the singing and the chord progression seems like a suitable modern accompaniment to the sonnet, but I think that the words were under-balanced in relation to the guitar, EQ-wise |
|
| Fake Folk Music by bobboblobbo | 7 years ago |
| Always glad to be of service! The box-drum and the harmonica are out of synch at the start, though, which is a bit annoying. This is a rough sketch for an idea I had when I bought a toy harmonica at a thrift store. | |
| Taurus by johnong | 7 years ago |
![]() I really like the vocal technique you use; it sounds like if you'd effected it heavily. I do want to hear a vocals-only version; it'd be very interesting to hear the modulations you do by themselves. I think that the choice to add a techno beat was good; it sounds like the music to a movie, with a strange revelatory experience in a club. |
|
| cous cous by triage | 7 years ago |
