Twitter, and iComp plays...
February 9, 2016 | 9:36 pm

I've noticed that a link on Twitter will get you many plays on iComp. Just sayin'.

I'm not for tricky ways to get more listens to a song here, but I have noticed that whenever I've added a link to a song of mine on iCompositions via Twitter, the song count goes up dramatically. Not that I care much these days—I don't, but it does say something about the whole "getting your stuff out there" approach.

I posted my address on a Bus Stop wall.

I had to move.

I don't have a problem with that. Even within icomps itself there are buttons with which to share your songs on Facebook or Twitter. And yes it does bring up the listens. But there are listens and there are "meaningful" listens. I'd rather have one comment over 30 listens where i know nothing about who has listened or what they thought of it.

The song need not even be played to ad a listen.
Just being on the page does it.

@jl that's a very valid point, too - again, it means that the numbers game can be misleading.

I’d say these are all good points, and I too enjoy and respect comments from members of this amazing community… much more than a drive by twitter pluck.

Rock on folks,
