Pretty song. I like the strings too. Nice touch.

You always seem to come up with something different than before. Can't figure out how you do that. I've missed a few or your hits recently so, I'll go back and have a listen. Glad you're still uploading your creations. Wish I was...

I agree with the others above - great production. ...and those backing vocals are sweet! Great song with an excellent choice of instruments used. I really like the way the chorus comes in so strongly too. All around nice work. (PS: I'm a sucker for that D to Am (depending on the key you played in) thing you do in the verses. Love it.)
major DUD by DUMPSTATION 1 month ago
I like how, after 60 plays, this song has no rating or comments. Must mean it really does suck. Yeah, I guess I'm in agreement. This one's a DUD. Once again, DUMPSTATION has reached their goal though. It's really quite an accomplishment if you think about it. Obviously though, no one thinks about stuff like that except maybe for me. I like music that sucks. If 'Suck' was a genre here, I'd choose it for my favorite on my profile page. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with listing 'Other' as my favorite genre. Other is a great genre - don't get me wrong. It's just that it's so vague, one never knows what styles of music it might cover. Guess that's the great thing about Other music. It covers anything. Hopefully, iCompositions will add a few more genres to their list one day. I'd love to see some of my real favorites like: Outlaw Carnival, Hobo Mom, dumbstep, Classical Beat Pirate, Humpty Porch Tractor, Living Death Metal, and maybe even my ultra fav - Jiffypop. Alas, this post will never be read and all my witty banter will have been written for no one. Oh well, it's not like I have anything better to do. Wait, that's not true at all. In fact, it's stuff like leaving this post that keeps me from doing all those 'better' things. It's OK though because time wasting is one of my hobbies and, I'm getting pretty good at it. It's all about practice really. Like everything else, the more you practice, the better you get. So far, I've moved up pretty high on the list of professional time wasters. I've got it down and I attribute my success to hours and hours of time spent honing my craft. You too can be a decent time waster. If you've read this far, you're obviously on your way. To get to the pro level like me, you might want to start by reading this at least 60 times in a row - each day - three times a day. Hey, don't thank me. I just give out advice. Interesting style of music. Glad I can't pigeonhole this into some stupid genre because it's nice that it's whatever it is. It's just cool and different. Made me think something Jim Morrison might do if he was still around. I dig the way you don't mind tossing in some unusual instrument sounds that I wouldn't expect to hear.

Vocals? I've heard that before somewhere.

I like this but the thing is, vocals seem to take a really nice sounding piece like this and give it that extra personality that turns it into what some call - a song. This isn't criticism at all because on its own, this is quite nice. I think its easier for the typical listener to get excited for some reason, when there's someone singing on top of the music tracks. I started out here with only instrumentals and then one day discovered the joy of adding vocal tracks. So much fun! OK, I'm done with this sermon. You can catch my previous 'Why Don't You Add Vocals' sermons on your other song pages.

You always seem to come up with music that sounds different than what you've done before. Keeps me coming back.

I'm impressed that you're playing all the instruments. Way to go! I've always been a big fan of those who do that.

I think this is definitely worthy of working on. Actually, it sounds pretty good the way it is. Maybe a little more mixing and --- yes, vocals would be great. If you can play as well as you do, I'm guessing you could pull off some singing. I know an iComper named 'Baboon' does some collaboration and has a great voice. Might wanna check with him.

Keep it up man.

I like the 'particular instrument' explorations you're doing and it's nice to hear pieces of music that use time signatures that are not typical.

This one is another worthy of listening to piece of yours that I again, really like. To me, the build is what makes this cool. That and the sound of the main 'instrument'. You sure aren't ever going to be growing any moss in your studio.

Crazy short, which I always dig. Of all the jive genre names I've come up with, I hadn't thought of 'Dramatic Incidental'. I like it!
One thing that stands out and is cool is the 'off' bass note. That pretty much makes the song for me. There's a song by Metric called 'Combat Baby' where the singer does a similar off note thing with her vocal. I think your bold decision to use an off bass note is a mighty nifty touch. On to your other new offerings...

Sweet sounding composition and great guitar playing. You managed to capture some quality acoustic guitar sounds too. The few times I've tried, it was harder to pull of that I had anticipated. Anyone who says, "Play loud" in their description is someone cool in my book. I did, and I really enoyed it.

This sounds good man. Pretty much sounds like a radio song (which is a good thing I think), especially with the voc FX autotune thing. Nice backing vocals too. The chorus is really great! - catchy with cool lyrics. I like the way you got a completely different sound for the chorus vocals than on the verse vocal. Nice job on that. I'd like to see the lyrics. It's a hassle but, it's a big part of the song and putting them up makes it easy to get what you're saying. Nice job mixing.

Cool piece. I've got a thing these days though. I always seem to want to hear vocals on people's songs. Not that this needs vocals, cuz it's great the way it is. I guess I just feel like adding vocals turns a good piece of music into a memorable song. That's just my opinion of course but I always encourage iCompers to TRY to add vocs. Can't sing? So what.

Love this. Nice ending too.

Funny thing - while I'm writing this comment, right next to the comment box is an ad for MacKeeper. What's funny (in addition to the song itself) is, the ad has a picture of the front of a washing machine. I guess this song really does need to be un-filthy-ified.

This piece is great! Besides the unmentionable sounds here and there, you've got some killer sounding 'vox/synth' stuff going on. Big, fat, loud, and like you said ...filthy. Way cool sounding. Ha ha ha. I think I may have actually laughed. Yeah, I did. Good ending too.

I don't know what to say really except that I enjoyed the sound of this one. It just sounds cool. I guess that's what I wanted to say.

You got a big 'wall-o-sound' thing going on in the chorus part that I especially liked. I could have handled hearing more bass there though. For using more or less basic chords, you came up with something non-basic. iComp really should add that genre - non-basic.

Glad you continue to add to the music here and in THE SHED.

Perfect! I just got my new iShovel from the App Store and it works great with this song. Not many people are hip to virtual grave digging and even fewer are cool enough to write a song about it. Leave it to you to be the first.

This music does really sound like it fits the title - heavily eerie. Kind of reminded me of parts of the soundtrack for the movie 'Mysterious Island'.

I always wonder when you list 'some loops', what parts aren't loops. Anyway, I enjoyed this chunk of sound.

Cranked this to 14 in the SHED and I smacked into the ceiling. Hit me harder than Heisenberg's blue!

Man. That is a sound combo I'm not sure I've exactly heard before. Nice I love the timing of the chord changes. Reminds me of someone going through something hard and coming out better on the other end. Very cool.

I kept thinking you were saying "Good Tweet" which is no doubt definitely not what you were saying eh? Maybe "Good To Eat"? Maybe "Birds Weep". Yeah, that's it. Sounds musical in a distorto-beat sort of way. I like the synth work.

Good grief AI ! That was cool. I felt like I was trying to climb out of a giant box of cereal. Sugar Cereal. Love the futuristic yard sale vibe. Rake ON!

Am I still here?

Not familiar with the Blood Countess. I'm assuming the rancid yelps/whoahheeahh came from that. ? Or, is that you. Drums sound great in the mix. My AudioIrony playlist is growing - and that's SUCH a good thing.

Nice mix. I think I'm going to shut up. Love the concise length and the backing vocs. This was fun to listen to.

(I Am) Hi-End by Neumuzik 10 months ago
My volume is always on 10 so I had no problem hearing this at all. Good upstairs in a dark room waiting for someone music. Do you think the person that is being waited for will even knock on the door when he/she hears this music loudly thumping inside the dark room? I was making up some vocals while I listened the second time. Kinda sounded cool and dark. Just like my room.

"Why ya got me waiting here
Full of fear when it goes down waiting here
Like a cat sitting on the old man's chair
And all that money right there yeah it don't seem fair"...

Didn't have any idea what I'd hear when I clicked on your home page link...but dang! This is wonderful. I love it. You are one great sounding singer. This will be an interesting addition to my bike riding playlist. Thanks.

Nice mix with the backing track too.

Yeah!

I really like that main rockin' part and especially dig the guitar tone you used. Sounds like you miked the amp instead of using a preset sound (?) . Whatever you did, I dig the old school/Foghat effect.

In my opinion, the other sections of the song are really calling out for vocals. Those parts sound to me like background music that's missing something on top - and, my guess is the 'something' is some kind of vocal treatment. They work fine as kind of spacey sounding interludes but... OK. I think you get what I mean.

POZ-I-NOTE: I always encourage iCompers to sing on their music. You should give it a try. Go for it. See what happens. I started out doing instrumentals - then one day said, "screw it" and just started laying down vocal tracks. It turned out to be one of my favorite parts of the writing/recording process. You start to get better too. (This tune just wants some...)

You've also got a little Fishcow thing going on here. I like the 'abnormal note change timing' of the main synth line and the late introduction of the hi hats. That hidden tambourine beat made it all come together for me though. Really nice.

A repeating loop of this, will make my half hour meditation more fun tomorrow.

Actually, now that I think about it, the Unlimited Flex Capacitors do come in handy when you need to go back and fix a 3 or 4 star song without anyone knowing they ever starred it in the first place. I've also use that feature to add a few new bounces to iCompositions.com in 2014. The comments weren't synced well though. I got one from 2007.

Relaxing and just kind of 'nice'. It is amazing to me to hear your deep and wide variety of creativity when it comes to recording music/sound.

Thanks for hanging in there and not taking 2 year long breaks like some of us...???

Ha ha! Awesome tune. Great title. I like the foot tapping thing too. Thought it was someone pounding on the SHED door.

Nice rockin' work dude. You've got the 'real stuff' when it comes to getting down.

Weird. Apple sent me that like months ago. I just got my advance beta copy of Logic 13 or X111. They took out almost every feature and made it just a one track recorder, kinda like an app you can download for a phone or something. I think I might have tossed it in the trash.

Reminds me of a FedEx package traveling from van to conveyer belt, then truck to hand truck ... back into a larger truck, then out onto a steel conveyer with rollers onto a plane and back into a small van ... finally reaching its destination by foot, with or without the help of a hand truck.

This song is some kind of hit or something. A HIT, like in, "OK, ladies and gentlemen, we've got a special treat for you tonight. Let's have a big welcome for 'Neumuzik' playing his new hit, 'Alien Half'! (Applause, applause, applause, ...1, 2, 3, 4)...

Referring to the text under 'Song Information', Actually, I'd prefer regular corn or, maybe some kind of fruit, like pears or something. Creamed corn is for guardrail kissers* and has been known to cause brain damage in ostriches. Ever had a brain damaged ostrich decide to do a trip on your face? Kind of feels the way this song sounds... like a shocking--out of nowhere kick in the head, as in painfully good with a long lasting after-effect that burns for up to 4 days, depending on how may vials of Ether™ one uses to relieve the pain (while all the time keeping the memory slamming loudly in your brain -- in this case, meaning the memory of this song. But since an ostrich - any ostrich, even the wild female albino kind they use in the Israeli army, doesn't have a lot to do with your music or even with this comment, maybe you should just disregard your choice of some of the less insightful chunks above and give me another chance ...please? Whew! Thanks man. I was getting in a little deep there and, without your kindness, could have buried more than my head in the sand.

So Neumuzik, I've got to tell you in all sincerity that you have been coming up with some creatively 'killer' pieces of music lately. Really cool stuff -- original, well crafted, enjoyable to listen to, and usually whippin' powerful -- just the kind of sound I enjoy hearing over and over (except for the creamed corn in my ears -- that's just yucky).

AND LASTLY:
I must apologize for constantly hassling you to vocalize but, deep down, I think we both know...YOU REALLY SHOULD START SINGING ON YOUR HITS. Either way though, this is one of my recent favorites and, as the Music Industry hipsters like to say, "This one's a real WHAMMO!"

______________
*GUARDRAIL KISSER: An inept, unskilled, doofus, usually a 'pant'*, who more often than not, does something so stupid that he/she ends up 'kissing the guardrail' (like the guardrail along a mountain road) then often after unintentionally accepting a shank of the metal guardrail through the skull or ________, flips right over the edge and off into that place no wannabe human ever wants to go.
______________
*PANT: A) Weasel-like, annoying character who lives to be the third wheel and has never been able to master the 'sit up'. B) One who seems to enjoy being teased and couldn't play 'Wipeout' to save his/her life.

I've got moon rocks in my kitchen man. I don't think your idea was very cool. You should see the size of the holes in my roof, not to mention my totally smashed car. I did what you said though because I am a true fan and true fans always do what they're told.

This is cool Neumusic! I just LOVE THE ENDING TOO. You know how to put together a freaking killer track jack.

I'm gonna tell you one more time though and then I'm going to die my mohawk bright blue and put on my nurses outfit%u2014%u2014%u2014%u2014YOU GOTTA TRY SINGING. IT'S A JOY LIKE NO OTHER %u2014EVEN IF YOU SUCK.

Remember: Everything borris says is absolutely TRUTH and fact so you better think twice before you ignore another call FROM ME to sing. A CALL from the truly amazing and Advanced Genius that is borris is similar to a law that cannot be broken so.... PLEASE! Live a little.

This is so completely and totally cool man. Tripped me out and spun me right upside the head. Thanks for the long outro too. I needed that to kind of ease back down.

Right on man, I love this! (Gotta go listen to it again now.)
