| You really pull off the SUGARCOATED CONCRETE VOCALS bro! ...with a mean guitar solo that sounds like you've been touring for years. That Mick Ronson stuff you put way, way, way back in the left channel is fully 'rock/n/rollin' all the way home'. Nice mix. | |

![]() Baboon—whippin' crazy good vocals man. Took me back. Seriously sounds like early Steve Marriott (who by the way is my all time, all time, all time favorite singer of all time). The rest is a trip! Excellent arrangement, cool vocal parts, and superior overall sound. Dang, your voice...nice. Everyone really threw some righteous stuff into this one. Best collaboration I've heard in a long time. |

![]() Nice composition. You really throw in some wild right hand stuff. I pictured a person thinking about all the things she/he had to do for the day. The middle part is cool too - gives the song a break that feels kind of mixed up and confused. That's what I pictured anyway. borris |

![]() Wild idea ...swinging Frank. Ha! 5 stars because all the categories were nailed. The part just before the drum solo is gnarly. So is the part right after. Really punctuates. I'd love to hear what you'd do with 'Bodhisattva'. Oh yeah. -borris |

| After just listening to your version of 'Revolution', I was ready for a anything here. But you've stuck to the original closely enough to make a real nice, mellow sounding cover. The vocals are excellent and the rest (not sure about the organ) is sweet. Interesting staccato adjustments on some of the lead guitar parts. -borris |

| Revolution (Beatles Cover) by tonestones | 6 months ago |
![]() Very interesting take on this song. I'm with some of the others regarding horns, but the horn parts here are creatively written and, although a little large in the mix, seem worth including. I really like the string parts and the panned percussion. Extremely different from any other cover of Revolution I've ever heard...nice. -borris |

| Listened to this off of an old mono Mac Tower speaker and it comes across nicely. I dig what you do with the different bass parts, especially the more dominant one. I also really like the quick fadeout. I'm big on fadeouts, but usually opt for long ones. I don't think I've ever even tried a short, quick one. Cool effect. Yeah, I get a sort of subtle, action scene feeling from this. Not too overbearing - just right. I think you would have a lot of fun, and do a great job with, soundtracks. For some reason, I have the impression that you've done a fair amount of video. ?? Do you use YOUR music much for backgrounds on any of them? I think, with your vast collection of compositions, you'd have a lot to choose from. By the way, where can we see video that you've done? -borris/cjacks |

| You're such the eclectic composer. I dig where you're going these days. The panned synth and acoustic guitar doubling creates a great effect, and the heavier guitar kind of frosts the cake. Short and semi sweet. I never know what I'll hear - and I mean never, when I click on a new song of yours, and I have a feeling you get a lot of enjoyment from the process of putting your tunes together. | |

| I like the punch of the production. The second chord of the chorus is cool. Kind of takes me down to a relaxed spot. I got a little tired of the string sound though. I think alternating with and without (like the last part of the song) might help...just a thought. Your vocal recording is clean and you've definitely got a pro sounding voice. Thoughtful lyrics. Nice job. | |

![]() Good grief! This song is happening. "Difficult with all these difficult people" < that sounds so cool! Unreal. I love the whole thing. You rock. -borris |

![]() Your description pulled me right in, and I'm glad it did. This sounds freakin' great up really loud in phones and those semi off notes are totally inspired. The whole song is exceptional - one of the best I've heard here in a long time. For me, this is a truly 5 star piece. The guitar tones have a cool 'real' sound and the synth/bass break is perfect. Any chance of adding vocs? -borris |
|
| Cover of behind blue eyes. by liquidghondi | 1 year ago |
![]() Wow! Except for a few complaints I have, this is really, really good. Your voice is righteous man. The backing vocs sound great too. I especially dig the high 'Kansas' style thing you did right before the break. What did you do for drums? If those are loops, you must have got the Keith Moon pack or something - 'cause they're hot, and your guitar tones and playing are totally right on. That clipping and cutting out really takes away though. What caused that? Also, I think your main vocal would sound a lot better in the mix if it wasn't completely panned to the left. That stuff said, you really did a nice job recording the individual instruments and vocals, and the middle part just kicks. I'm going to be checking out your other music. -borris |

| Tiny Heart Attacks by Neumuzik | 1 year ago |
![]() Well, you know what I think about horn lines. That said [again and again], you DO have some nice long horn 'chords' that sound really smooth. Also, very interesting use of the basses. That super low thing is sweet. When the beat double times, the bass lines start to cook. In fact, I like that whole last half the best. I will say though that the melody line synth thing sounds a little too eerie or something and could have been more interesting - 'course, that's just me right? borris |

| Standards & Measures by Neumuzik | 1 year ago |
| I don't know exactly how to put this, but it sounds like you're playing some of the instruments in slightly different keys, or possibly in minor and major keys. Hard to say. Something weird like that though. Hmmmm. Still, I kind of like it. There's a happy / mentally unstable thing going on that's hard to pinpoint. I feel like if the song were a person, that person would have a confused look on his face and people walking in the opposite direction would have concerned looks on their faces. For a minute there I thought I saw myself in the mirror. -borris |

![]() Quite the happy go lucky conglomeration. Sounds like you cleaned your room and threw all the shoes you used to wear into separate tracks in Logic, then added a few chocolate popsicles and an old clock radio. No wait... I think I hear something like an SE30 falling down a pipe into some kind of bin for used turpentine. Yeah that's it. Plus there's that obvious sheen you must have got from rubbing two tires together until they caught fire and melted into an Apple TV ad turned up to 12 on an old set being towed behind a Corvair while the driver was reading something by Ayn Rand. Furniture polish? Of course I drink it. Huh? |
