| This is really, really cool . The simple guitar and cool, kind of sad vocals remind me a lot of my favorite Elliot Smith's songs. Nicely done! | |

| Super-cool song to cover. I like it a lot. Very well played and sung. I'm not listening on my headphones like I should be, but to me the Zoom recorder sounds like everyone singing and playing is wrapped in 1 or 2 layers of bubble wrap. NICE!!!! | |

![]() My ears are engaged in a wonderful, tinkling, childhood fantasy. This is far beyond my skill in writing and playing. It sounds bold, playful, happy with a bit of seriousness mixed in, like "mother's watching" at times. This piece is full of imagery. Nice job!! |

| Really cool guitar and vocals! Don't change them at all but, in my opinion, you should add some surprising but simple percussion at the second or third verse... and build it more toward the end | |

| This is really cool. Extremely well played, sung and produced. I have not heard the original version, but I love the organ- I want a little more... Maybe doubling the organ in a second track with flute registers or some deep cello would add a soft fill to the entire sound. Maybe changing the effects for all tracks to a subtle reverb for the last 1/4 would be a cool way to bring it home. Nice job! | |

| Thanks for all the comments. I don't know how to portray true sadness without playing very quietly in some parts. Some might argue that the tempo and volume are too upbeat for such an sad song. I really like the idea of adding strings...I love deep, dark strings. | |

| Wonderful vocal delivery...Very nice "squishing" indeed! These lyrics fit nicely into this piece. Nicely done, both of you | |
| Permanence by SteveScott | 1 year ago |
| Cool dismal sound this... It does not pretend to have a sunny side. Maybe you could pan the deep pulsating synth sound slowly back and forth at times to add depth...I like when it suddenly slows down to just a simple beat at the end.,,If you wanted to, you could slow it down to just the beat in the middle then let it build with a different, even darker synth sound with a littel more bass...Maybe some deep cello and bass strings? I don't know...Just giving some thoughts as they come to me. Nice job! | |
| Sleep (DI) by becwil | 1 year ago |
| I tried to listen to this one late last night on my laptopcomputer while I was away from home for the last two nights at a conference for work. I forgot my headphones, so the sound on everything that I tried to hear sucked through the crappy little speakers. I knew that this was worth a second listen... It sounds beautiful and light... I like the addition of choral sounds...The only things that I could suggest are some occasional deeper sweep of the panning from one speaker to the other and maybe the addition of some deep strings or organ to fill it up at the points when you are trying to build the sound...Nice job! | |

![]() Just stumbled across this one... Nice work! I like how you build the layers to the raw distorted guitar. Maybe a simple quiet bridge to change it up could add even more character. You should try to get Thom Yorke to add some vocals to this. You might as well ask him, you never know... |

| ZipZipper - Thanks for the comment. I always listen to my music loud (probably too loud), so I love the sound of a piano when the keys are barely touched, and then hear it build up from there. Vixen - Crazy scary and sad things are happening in Japan right now. I wish them the best. Thanks for listening, and I too hope that she can get out of her situation soon. Pharm - Thanks a ton for your comment. I'm glad you liked it. |

| Nice tribute -Very sad and scary days for Japan right now. This is really well played with good structure. Nicely done! Adding some erratically building and fading kettle drums, maybe a gong strike, and some dark strings here and there would really emphasize the "quake" feel. | |

![]() Your slowed-down tempo and deep, rich, beautifully-dark guitar changes the electro-pop original version to a pace where I think this song really belongs...Nice job! Some deep string bass might really thicken it, but percussion might take some away...play around with it. Someone with a strong voice could do wonders to this track. |

![]() Nice collab, guys! Love the base track and the vocals really finish it...Linda, your vocals add a ton, and I like how you don't try to pile it on tooooooo much... that happens a lot with some of what I hear today...You let Andy keep his subtle parts clear, but add a tremndous amount to the rest...I like the vocoder toward the end...Nice! |

| Soothing mix at first...then....all is not quite so calm, and it's getting brighter...and brighter...it picks up a little...This is the first time that I've heard Silent Night at this tempo...still gentle enough...the sideways head-bob is kicking in a little now....the mix of voices and music is excellent...then you bring it all back to earth at the end. Wonderful Rendition! |

| Awesome, slightly sad mood to this... Very nicely played track and strong, clearly sung vocals. If I had anything to suggest, I would say build up some more...and then completely fill up around the darker string parts with tons sound but still keep the acoustic guitar and vox parts as quiet as possible to really put it together and emphasize the emotion of the song. |

| Nice use of organ with the piano. I like the chord progression and upbeat feel of this. Well played keys I like the little darker jazzy measures about 1/2 way through. The horns were a nice surprise to build it up at the end. Great job! | |
| Thanks for Everything by carlajpatterson | 1 year ago |
![]() Ha Ha Carla! I told you that others would be reminded of "Great Gig in the Sky". The similarity is the full-on emotion that you show in the singing. You did it all in one single first take, Claire Torry, the singer on GGITS needed a few takes pieced together to get it right. This was a wonderful job Carla! You really added a ton to this one. ![]() |

The vibes add interest and complexity, without taking away from your vocals. I really love the subtle whispering voice percussion track! |

![]() Nice changes throughout. I like the build at the end. very well put together piece. As far as the mixing goes, It's not as bad as you think. I'm no expert, but, It sounds like the volume levels are well proportioned. As far as the panning goes, It does sounds like all the tracks are placed in the middle. You might want to pan the different pieces slightly to one side or the other, to separate them more in the ears. You could also bring out the more subtle parts more by simply placing more quieter parts throughout the piece without the cool frantic pizzicato maybe just the harpsichord and bass strings for a few measures, then build back up to adding the full pizzicato strings. Changing the "thickness" of the piece as it goes along can make it even more interesting and dramatic. Nice work! |
