Well my biography... I don’t have much to say, I’ll start from the beginning
when I was in year 8 or 9, about 12 or 13 I started to really get into playing piano at school, and I would start to learn really basic versions of pop songs at the time, but at this time in my life I didn’t really want to be the geeky music guy so naturally I didn't really commit all that much, I just really went along because I t was something to do while really most of the time I was trying to join in with the cool kids playing football and stuff.
It was in December 07 that I really started to get into music, I took the lead role of Joseph in the school show and discovered I could sort of sing, I sang better then, my voice won’t let me go as high now =/
It was the events that happened before, during, and after the show surrounding friends that brought me to my music.
for the Christmas 08 my parents bought me, along with both nans / grandads, a Yamaha electric piano, and I still play this quite a lot now, imp not brilliant at reading piano music admittedly but I love sitting and just jamming, writing songs, and singing to myself. Also, sad to say, around this Christmas I got guitar hero. Guitar hero 3 to be precise. It showed me a whole new genre of music that I never thought I would get into, most importantly the song one by Metallica
This was January 08
By February I was stealing my dads Yamaha every night trying to impersonate James Hatfield by playing the very first intro of one over and over... that was how it started
because of the stuff surrounding Joseph I was all emo at the time and generally wasn’t a great person to be around, there was loads of stuff happening at school and I didn’t really have friends, I had joined a drama group which is now my life but I didn’t really know anyone then so guitar was my "escape" so to speak
Eventually, for my 15th birthday, my parents bought me a guitar xD an Epiphone les Paul, whoa I had a guitar!! it was around this time I joined my first band, we never had a name, with my friends Jamie josh Aaron and Ryan, 3 guitarists a bassist and a drummer, no singer, good times (Y)
With my birthday money I bought a second hand ESP ltd m50 for £80, very good investment thought I’d just say that.
after a couple of school concerts that band fizzled out but my love for music carried on, it was around this time I started the band "stone the crows" with josh and Jamie and that I am still in now, we are covering songs like metallic as one and rj dios holy diver, were a pretty good band I think but we lack a bassist who we are still looking for now.
in around summer 08 my dad bought me home a second hand apple Mac from his workplace, it is on this that all my songs started happening, for the first time I could sit in my room for hours and rather than just playing I could get my ideas recorded and multi track and make songs. I have come a very long way since my very first song entitled "new song" haha
Christmas 08 my parents and family and friends gave me money, as that is what I asked for. With this money I began saving, I was selling things that id had since I was a child, there was something I wanted and desired!! A Jackson rr3 Rhoads =P
Eventually I saved up the £370 needed to buy this beast and ordered it, lucky I did, and it’s now £500 online!!
so yeah, this brings me to now, I have my music and my amazing drama buds, those two things have helped me stop being emu and helped me to find myself, I now know that I am not a "cool kid" imp actually quite uncoil but I really don’t care, I make my music and with friends like Danielle Elfy and Lauren I don’t need to worry about all the "cool kids" taking the piss!!
