Mugshots? I dunno.....I ain't much to look at. Got a nice pic of me playing Carol Kaye's bass at my Ourstage.com page but it's 8 years old already....
JESSICA by chuckk1 2 years ago
Not a cover. The Allman Brothers' "Jessica" was totally different. This is original! While in the studio with Barry Gibb, David handed me the lyrics he'd scratched out about a girl who would sit across the street every day, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Bee Gees. English has yet to hear the finished song after 30+ years!!

This tune also appears on my brother's 2nd album (available at Amazon.com), the Coconut Boat Band's (of which I am a member) "Too Much Hands On My time".
LADY IN LOVE by chuckk1 2 years ago
Unfortunately, I had to make this mp3 from a 'vinyl lift'. Years ago I tried to get my 24 track masters from Capitol, just to save them some storage space (imagine how many tapes they have in their vaults now) and to maybe have some fun remixing them. "No way" they said. Capitol isn't stupid. And if god-willing, I ever had a hit even with another label, they'd have that album out again in a heartbeat. Look at what they've done with the Beach Boys catalogue for the last 40 years - and the Beach Boys haven't been on Capitol since the late 60's!! Aside from the fact that Capitol spent $90K on my sessions, they're very protective of their masters and the potential future income. In retrospect, I probably should have let them put "Lady" out as the first single. They might have done a better job of promoting it...and I would have had "Oh Dancer" as a great follow-up. Will post more from that album in time....

Perfect for a fright scene cue! And Naaji, that's a damn good kid imitation. You do V/O's professionally?
LEAVE TOMORROW (for your daughters and sons) by chuckk1 2 years ago
Gil, it was a machine where I worked. It used DBX noise reduction which I hated but the machine was too noisy without.

naj, you look like someone who would be fun to hang with....but you probably never have time. Can't believe all the stuff you've composed. Excellent stuff.

Cool, raw, rocks. Try panning the guitars left & right opposite eachother. Nice to hear harmonies again. It's seems to be a lost art...
Man Down by chuckk1 2 years ago
Thank you all. There have been many comparisons to Fagen on this one. The next one I submit will definitely show the Steely influence. Eric is my #1 fav guitarist on the planet. This song relates an unfortunate incident that nearly took my life in 1986. With God's grace, the support of my family and friends, and a great surgical team, I managed to keep my left arm that took a 357 bullet thru the elbow and was nearly severed.

The stuff of film scores....something I have always wanted to do. This gives me a mental picture of the Orient...a landscape, somewhere in China maybe. You're obviously somewhat limited in resources (the samples / sounds, etc), but you've made the best of it. I have a studio full of the most modern stuff, but my best work was done on a Teac 3340!!
