Biography
Born in Waukegan, Illinois and raised in Rockford, Illinois, daddēpants got his start in music when his grandparents started him with piano lessons at the age of eight. He would sit with a Sony tape deck and play songs that he enjoyed listening to in order to teach himself how to play those songs.
After eight years of classical training daddēpants started playing the acoustic and bass guitars for fun and an extended musical capability. Although his love has always been found between the black and white keys of the piano.
In 2001, after spending a few years living in Chicago, daddēpants made his way to Ohio and found himself experimenting with electronic music. By manipulating computer programs designed to compose beats and synths, daddēpants found new uses for his piano teachings. This is the point where he started calling his work station "the lab" for it was in his parent's basement.
2002 brought a creative breakthrough of sorts for daddēpants. At the time, daddēpants spent a weekend with a group of DJs from the Dayton area and after tagging along with them to St. Louis, Missouri for a music festival daddēpants realized that he had the "bug" and had to get his creative endeavors underway.
That same year, daddēpants put together a bunch of material that only few have heard and, in fact, all sixteen tracks were never named.
2005 brought the meeting of two great minds...even if they didn't know it yet. daddēpants met a guy by who went by The Ro and the two immediately began trading musical ideas. The Thunderkicks were born.
Now, in 2007, daddēpants is hard at work, "In The Lab." His workstation includes programs like Reason, Ableton Live, and Nuendo. This endeavor promises to be a lot different from his first attempt as this will have all new material along with live instruments, lyrics/vocals, and even visual material that will be used when daddēpants takes to the streets for shows.
