Biography
Dark Hatred is an Experimental Metal project, conceived by Simon Pettiford.
The first version of the Dark Hatred I album was recorded and released on iCompositions and a few other music sites in early 2007, including collaborations with Surak777, robotpantyraid, and Luke Stephenson from MyVirtualBand.com, and is described as experimental metal music.
The album was reworked in 2009, dropping the tracks Lost Within The Underground World and Mayhem At The Ministry and replacing them with new track Closet Mayhem Merchant, previously unreleased track Not Receiving and Graveside Rituals.
Ever Closer To Destruction is a compilation of miscellaneous tracks recorded during various sessions. "These tracks are what I consider to be the best of the recording sessions - a good documentation of me experimenting with my sound." The collection includes a collaboration with iCompositions user DOS.
Current Dark Hatred line up:-
Simon Pettiford aka Simon Hatred: Drum Programmes, Guitars, Bass, Keyboards, Production, Vocals
Jenni Grove aka Jenni Dark: Additional Vocals & Production
NEW ALBUM IN PRODUCTION DUE FOR RELEASE EARLY 2010
Simon, and girlfriend Jenni, are putting together ideas for a new Dark Hatred album, which they describe as "the darkest, heaviest stuff we've ever written to date. We want to really build on the experimental style of the first album and make something so heavy and different-sounding than whats out there, but at the same time we want to incorporate flavors from our favorite metal songs and influences."
The band are also taking influences from their reading material. "We're really into reading dark stories about Vampires and Witches and the supernatural at the moment. It's played a big part in our writing."
The album has been titled Nightmare. Tracks tipped for inclusion on the album are Dragons, Bloodthirst, Secret Circle, and Waltz Of The Corpses.
Writing and recording has also begun for a brutal project called The Departure, which sees Dark Hatred teaming up with Verbalist, who is ditching his traditional hip-hop style and playing his hand at metal vocals. The project is hoped to be completed by Feb 2010. "We're working fast on this one, concentrating on being as brutal as possible!"
