This beautiful piece of music has made my 2 month old daughter very happy - lots of smiles and contented baby gurgles. Very calming on a restless little girl... and I liked it too smiley

Thankyou,

Cats are cool!
One thing I would suggest - try a fade out at the end. It kind of just stops abruptly.
Well done.

First Contact by Palladio 6 years ago
4

Not bad for a first effort.
I marked you down on performance because you're using 2 loops that really don't go well together - I think it's the first two you used. Say it's in the key of C. One loop uses a F major chord - the other a F minor chord and it clashes. If that doesn't make sense, drop me a private message and I'll try to explain it better.
But don't take it too hard - I think it was still pretty good.

Peephole Shuffle by mikecreamer 6 years ago

Love the rhythms - probably because that's one of my "non strengths" smiley
and just when it was starting to sound repetitive and boring, the classical stuff comes in and whammo!
Fantastic. Not overdone on the instrumentation and it's a good mix of the classical to the modern.

Hey not bad - some rather familiar loops (but that's ok). It's interesting to hear what different people do with the same base loops.
I think the levels are perhaps a little high and the ending seemed a little abrupt to me.
But overall, pretty good. Keep posting.

The major 3rd in the melody doesn't work with the minor chord (in the first couple of bars). It sounds funny to me.
But other than that - pretty good. I found it hard to tell what was loops and what was keyb. well done.

Big Sky by dberg 7 years ago
This is actually a bit of an experiment - 7 synths (all software instruments) with loops for percussion.
I just got a new usb/midi keyboard and this is the first thing I wrote with it.
It's a bit "raw" but I think it adds to the mood.
Barnabas Bash by dberg 7 years ago
hey thanks for the feedback.
I played clarinet in a concert band for a while (had to stop because we moved) but always wanted to write something. This was a somewhat belated effort. But there's always a chance it can be used somewhere in the future.
Interesting the images it conjured for you cydniko - i've never been to N.O.

Winter Trees by torylee 7 years ago

Very nice. I just think it sounds a little disjointed in certain parts of the melody (cutting out suddenly and leaving a very short gap). I would suggest trying to play around with the reverb/echo/chorus to try and overcome this.

Actually only using loops was kind of the point of this song. I actually don't have any equipment connected to my mac so it was an experiment.
But thanks for the opinion. My next piece will be different.
