Born in Chicago but raised in Toronto Canada, I started my musical education quite early in life (if not informally). Composing at the piano began at 11 years of age which was followed by formal lessons in trombone. My interest in music grew much deeper with the advent of synthesizers and I began my electronic music odyssey (including much too many equipment purchases that have not ceased since) in 1984. I studied music compositon at York University from 1987 to 1990 under avant garde composer James Tenney. Film scoring was my main objective in life and I worked on a few projects throughout the '90s but eventually found it not lucrative enought to pay the bills so I resolved to work on concert works and the occasional commerical venture part time.
