Biography

I'm from Hungary, but now living in England. I'm kind of a scientist (computer science, mathematics, artificial intelligence/life, biology) working as a researcher.

When I was a teenage kid I started to play the guitar, but no formal training, though I learnt a bit of classical guitar music and reading music notation. Then I stopped. When doing hungarian folk dancing I fell in love with the sound of the violin. I tried it once long time ago, but I found it impossible (stupid fretless instrument with an awkward stick).

Then, suddenly in 2004 I bought a violin for myself as a Xmas present, and now I have 3 violins, 2 violas (one is a transylvanian contra), 3 guitars, one bodhran and one bongo. So, clearly I have enough tools to make noise, therefore I don't need mobile phones at all.. smiley

My musical taste: http://last.fm/user/egri-nagy

I started to record my "streetfiddling" repertoire. Those songs' titles start with RPT, and they are short and just one single fiddle. A more systematic view (but linking back) can be found on my homepage.
