Hi
My name is Dick Philpot. I was born somewhere between Lonnie Donegan and the Beach Boys in 'smokey old South London, in the shadow of the folks living on Wimbledon Hill. I grew up with my Mum Dad and brothers within almost touching distance of the 'old railway steam trains' hurtling between the suburbs and Waterloo. I spent most of my 'teen years', which I just about remember, watching bands and saying "I could do that". But I never did. Well I never did until I hit my mid thirties and bought my first guitar but even then it took another 10 years before I played my first gig (thank you Billy Franks). It is with some shock and great satisfaction that I now find myself earning some of my living by treading the boards and singing my songs.
