would it be possible for me to remix this and run in a much more melancholic direction? i can hear it in my head smiley

absolutely love it man: reminds me of a blend between lulu rogue/trentemoller/lusine. phenomenal work man
Cordata by Engine 1 year ago
your production quality is always so impressive and inspirational.as mentioned, beautiful textures and unique sounds. maybe it's the fact that i'm listening to this through the internetz. but i feel like perhaps the high frequencies could be toned down a bit? this is all in conjunction with the moody feel, but if you want it to be a bit brighter, than spot on man.
The Great Lime Sphere by DanielLambert 2 years ago
unbelievable man: absolutely perfect production. reminds me of something out of this binary universe from the brilliant brian transeau.
Mnemonic by Engine 2 years ago
another stellar track man. nothin really to say other than beautifully done
Flight by Engine 2 years ago
as far as the distorted drums: i love that sound man. has a very trentemøller feel to it %u2013 who i'd have to say is my favorite producer. now this might be because my headphones are a bit bassier than most, but it seems the bass could be pushed back a bit in the over all mix. maybe make the bass's cutoff a bit tighter in the beginning of the track and open up as it goes?
Flight by Engine 2 years ago
another awesome track man. each time you surprise me with your production talent and production abilities. love how much is going on: yet the listener can focus on certain elements. we need to collab : )
Heaven Help Me (ver. 2) by C_Man 2 years ago
super rad man. love the feeling and reverse gating. the only real thing i might suggest to change is to bring the drums up a bit by maybe taking the reverb out a bit. maybe side chain the reverb so you can still have that beautiful effect, but can enhance the presence of the kit.

Mocha by Engine 2 years ago
i wonder, actually, would i be able to remix this?
Mocha by Engine 2 years ago
man, everytime i listen to your stuff, i'm honestly blown away. the texture of the drums especially is phenomenal and i love it. this totally first reminded me of moonbeam, then as it went along, more of a lusine sound came into my head. so maybe a combination of the two?

anyway man, fantastic stuff.
stillness by pepper 2 years ago
i'm not sure how i missed this, but what the fool i am for having done so. i honestly am always so inspired and in awe when i hear a new track of yours. even though it seems simplistic, the amount of layers and what is going on is more than enough to not only keep interested, but to add to the impressiveness of your production abilities.
resonance by telecaster29 2 years ago
fantastic production: blending a harsher sounding instrument in with soft synths is hard enough, but to then blend the acoustic with electronic is even more impressive. well done man.
Simply air by Engine 2 years ago
10 seconds into it, i was hooked. then the female vocal textures came in and yeah....i stopped whatever i was doing and suspended my train of thought. freakin love it man, exceptional production: very inspirational.
Scrolling scenery by Engine 2 years ago
i agree with rusticalia, but only in the choice of instrument. because of the soft pads, bass, and backing textures, i'm not sure the harshness of that lead instrument works too well. not necessarily that a harshly engineered synth can't work, but maybe put it more in the background, or make it more of a texture/fill, rather than the feature instrument.

i absolutely love the track, though.

"For anyone that wants to expand their library of sounds, I highly recommend going out and recording the sounds around you. It's amazing what they can turn into." Very true indeed, as you have shown here. Love the organic texture you kept in tact while making it still sound unique to what you wanted. You obviously have a gift and ear for hearing that perfect balance between the digital and the acoustic. yes you still have more work to do, especially as far as EQing goes, but I think you're honestly at the point of just playing with the volume levels, throwing on some dynamics, and you're good to go. Would love to hear the finished piece, and would love to even have a chance at giving it my own twist of electronica :{)

very well done and very inspirational

The Facts by Entourage 2 years ago
i agree with soundhound. you can hit the notes without the autotune. i know it's the popular sound in the top 40 nonsense, but you don't need it. it really hurts the quality of your naturally good voice. i wonder if you would let me take a shot at mastering it for you?
Red Lounge by Argales 2 years ago
this is sick. would love to have a go at remixing this? i use logic pro, so im not sure how file transfer would go; but, no big deal i can figure it out smiley
Think 69 (Club Mix) by Argales 2 years ago
love the chord change at 2:15. as far as mastering help, what do you need? what it sounds to me, if i may, is that the kick could be cranked a bit. it gets hard, though, mixing bass and kick frequencies, and that's really where you'll have to decide which you want more of. what would help i think a bit too is to make the enveloping more dramatic on the chord pattern to help the repetition a bit more?

i also LOVE the editing you do in the mid 3rd minute section; especially, that hit at like 3:44. would love to have heard that more
NEBULA by digitalTRAFFIC 2 years ago
great production man. really impressive layering and individual volume levels. i wonder, though, how do you have it spread? and have you experimented with any type of directional mixers of just panning them?

anyway still sounds great, well done.

hey c_man i really love the chord changes and melody. i'm wondering if you would let me remix this? i want to keep the general prog house feeling in tact. i use logic pro and would love to have the session files, even vocals, if possible. message me if you are down with this smiley
Poison Mind (Old Version) by Rome 2 years ago
so im havin another listen and i honestly think this has huge potential to be a massive hard hinting track. i know you are still in the fairly early stages of this track, but if i may be pretentious enough to offer another suggestion smiley on the breakdown what would be freakin epic is a swelling crescendo organ that is steady and playing the chord. this build with sweeps and all that other doodad whatevers then the total drop with your edit will be freakin rad

good work so far man really impressive mastering and synth work
Close your eyes remix by Lapskin 2 years ago
at least give credit to the banassi %u2014 satisfaction sampling.....
Poison Mind (Old Version) by Rome 2 years ago
i think you have a very good start here. i understand there are no effects or dynamics added in yet, but this is a very wolfgang gartner sounding track, which is a very good thing. if you don't know who he is, check him out for some inspiration.

definitely on those stops is where to add the effects and cut edits. i think you might get a bit too carried away with the stops, though. there has to be a consistent flow to it for it to be a successful house track. cuts in the intro and outro are rad because it gives the dj a lot to play with and make a cool mix, but the core of the track i think needs to be much more consistent. still do the edits by all means, but start the cut on the downbeat rather the off.

anyway good work so far man i am very interested to see how this pans out

wow i love this. sick groove. the only thing i'd say is to tone down the waves sound effect, or to take it out after a while, cuz it gets a bit monotonous. other than that...great sound, great groove, beautiful melody. just what you would expect from pepper: quality

Alone Work in progress really rough version by Lapskin 3 years ago
very impressive producing quality and techniques. the "stutter" get's annoying very quickly and really shouldnt be in such a standard sounding trance track. maybe that is part of the issues that you talk about, but i dont think it should be in the final edit. the build up though, i loved. the bridge into the build up is also really nice. you have a lot of really nice pieces in this track and i would highly urge you to clean it up and finish it. if you want someone to collab with you on this or anything else i would love to work with you

One Two Three Four by Lapskin 3 years ago
i think this track has a lot of potential; split potential that. i love the two elements of this track: the harder electro and the more minimal electro. if i could offer some production advice, i would make the snare punch more: like getting punched in the face with it. not necessarily volume, but a lot stronger depth to it. i LOVE the dirty minimal electro bridge with the "1 2 3 4" vocals. however, the chorus synth hits and that other organ texture are a bit, to be honest, corny. with minimal, less is more. much much more. also, screw with the 1 2 3 4 vocals. jumble the numbers around; stutter em; vocode them. the constant 1 2 3 4 gets fairly monotonous.

i really enjoyed the minimal electro bridges in the track and i think you should focus more on that, since this track seems to go off in about three different directions. great eqing sound though smiley

love it. great production.
Colder Than You by DjDetski 3 years ago
wow....very impressive man! GREAT production! i would only say that when the crescendo comes and sweeps, i would like to hear the bass open up a bit more just to match the growing tension of the track. just opening up the cutoff and increasing the resonation should be all. the treble on that snare might be a bit too high for me....but by like....2db's maybe lol. other than that very impressive work man great job

wow pepper... smiley WOW great production smiley seems like youre figuring out logic pro very very well and quickly smiley the only critique i would have is that the bass might be a BIT too loud overall in the final EQ...but still is great.

love the chord progressions and texturing; and the minimal beat. very confident groove, like there's nothing more you need to do than just this and that's all you get and you're going to LIKE it smiley

well done man

****ing Skunk Song Prototype by Crabeat 3 years ago
first off you need a much more advanced music production software than garageband to achieve the "justice" type sound you're going for. that bit crusher in GB is terrible. i don't think it's terrible, but yea you need better software and production quality for this to shine. the bass riff gets a bit monotonous after a while so try and find some bridge somewhere
anthr mnml (reupload work in progress) by douglas 3 years ago
well the thing is in my itunes and logic pro it sounds great and loud, but when i upload it here it's way quiet. i will play around with it more and see if i can spread the bass out a bit better and see if that helps. i have two stereo spreaders running as it is with a binaural processor set for headphones, so im not quite sure what else to do. i'll just have to play around with it more :{D

hey i love the chord progression and melody you have going on here. but the production quality is far from what it should be to be a great dance track. i would love to, though, take this and make it more into a trance track. i think it would be phenomenal if it was structured better. let me know

The Collision of an altered freedom by OMNICELL 3 years ago
the squarepusher reference is definitely applicable to the first minute or so. to me that was the most interesting. when the fifth note hi hat with hard bass hits come in then it just goes down hill and constantly more noise that doesnt have any consistency comes into play. trust me i appreciate IDM and love chaotic noise. this, however, sounded like it was done in 5 minutes just because of the inconsistency of instrumentation throughout. if youre going for this style of music, having a steady beat like that through out, quite frankly, sounds cheesy. you need to mash it up way more than this for it to come across the way you wanted it to. it honestly sounds like a bunch of loops thrown together. hope that helps
City Nights 2 (Sunset Again) by Bluepulse 3 years ago
for sure cool track, i would say you could even kick in a bit more bass there just to round out the entire sound. you have really nice crisp treble on that drum kit especially, i just wish the "acoustic" bass and kick drum had a bit more bottom end to it to fill out the sound. a different melody line would be nice too. just some variety is always nice, then come back to it
Get On Up by bigdaddycee 3 years ago
the beat is better, as far as the 1,2,1,2, steadiness. the synth choices though are very dated and are old school house. it's not bad to go with retro sounding synths, but try and at least update them so it sounds recent. there is a very popular prog/electro house artist called pryda who does this very well: updated retro synths. again i think it could be a bit faster. to make a solid dance track, there really can't be so much going on with the beat. the whole beat, though, comes from the play of the kick drum, hi hat, snare, and comping synth.

what kind of house artists do you listen to?
TIME by bigdaddycee 3 years ago
if you are attempting the house genre, this isn't close. house is usually 120 - 130 bpms and have a steady 1,2,1,2 beat. the bass kick needs to be a lot louder and more powerful. in fact, the whole track seems to be lacking a solid bass eq. for me, the intro vocals were really cheesy. its fine for being a electronica-r&b track, but as far as a "dance" or house track, it's not even close. the track also seems empty to me. if you replace that piano with a synth and open and close the cut off during the different accents. you have good dynamics going on which is also important. and on that solo...check the notes cuz there are a couple of very wrong mistakes smiley which can be fixed easily in the piano roll. that lead synth tho is super retro; it reminds me of early dream theater stuff.

the track is cool for an electronica/r&b track. not for a dance track.

thanks a lot guys for the critiques. this is something i just threw together last night and kinda structured it a bit to give an idea to someone who might collab into what i am thinking. i love trentemoller stuff so hopefully you can hear a bit of influence.

what i am going to do, as i am getting a new comp soon :{D, is transfer this from garageband into logic pro. that's where the real production and eqing begins :{D

again thanks for listening
