Thanks for stopping by to check out our little tune. We love DoD!!!
I personally use mostly loops, but I cut them up pretty heavily to make them work. I do use the single hits for the crashes, though. In all, I think this song has about 6-7 drum tracks going. I use multiple for the cymbal crashes so they each have decay time. and I think there are two tracks of drum loops cut together running side by side to make the drums sound more full.
As for Ibanez... Allen uses an GRX with Seymour Duncan pickups. He has a JB in the Bridge and a Jazz in the neck. I use a GAX 70 with DiMarzio Pickups. I have a Tone Zone in the Bridge and an Air Zone in the Neck. We both also used acoustics. Allen's is an Ibanez acoustic electric that he can record in stereo with. Very nice. and I have a Takamine G-series Dreadnaught. I also employed my trusty Tele-style guitar with GFS Lil' Punchers pickups.

In all there are around 30 (maybe more) tracks going in this little ditty.
Thanks again for stopping by to have a listen.

killer tune for someone who just "threw it together"
nice chunky rhythm and nice, steady drums. i don't hear it as a les paul, sorry. it sounds too clean. if it is a Paul, then you get a great tone from it. usually, i find they are too muddled. and WAY to heavy.
great tune!

Tele Jam by faelin 4 years ago
i will take that as a compliment, surak. since i have heard a few of your songs. and they are rockin.
when i started to learn the blues scale and its applications via classic rock, this is what emerged from that. i actually wrote the bass part first as the main guitar rhyth,, but when i went to record it, it did not sound full or "right" or something. so i re-did it using my bridge pup for snap with a bit of fuzz, made a loop from it and lowered the pitch to be the bass part, then came behind it two octaves higher, on the neck pup for creaminess, to make a cream/santana/deep purple type-influenced-guitar piece-thing. so, this is my homage to the classics. it's fun, though! thanks for the listen.
Growl by faelin 4 years ago
thank you gentlemen fot you positive comments and votes. they are much appreciated. i agree that some vocals are in order. as soon as I have them, I will record them. i had not thought much about the guitars being too loud. i will look into that.
i like the bass myself. it was a bear to do them too. the guitar riff is bassed in "d" and "a" both, so i have to find pieces of bass that worked and transposed them separately. then i used the "grind" setting in the amp/effects to give total brutality. thanks for listening.
as for the "chugger", since i do not have the rhythm jam pack yet with lots of tasty drum bits (esp. double bass) and drum programming and i get along like ex-in-laws...the chugger is the best, rocking series i have. they are full of great crashes and nice, rockin, cymbal driven grooves. and they are fairly easy to manipulate. so, for now, chugger is one of my main drummers, thanks for noticing.

thanks for ointing me to this track. wow! it's awesome. really nice production and great vocals. it's cool to meet someone with similar views on things.
very fresh, unique piece. thanks! i greatly enjoyed it!
oh, and don't take it personal, as a rule I don't vote on anything. I don't think i am qualified to put a "number" on someone else's music, and I think most people aren't qualified to put a number on mine. music is music, if I someone likes it, great.
Waste Of Me by faelin 4 years ago
thanks for stopping in to give it a listen. I am actually not a huge fan of most "Christians". To, me most (not all) that I have met are all about trying to be righteous in everyone's eyes. They are a bunch of phonies. Like I said, not all. I have a church that I am fortunate enough that I can be ME and not feel like that's not good enough. So, I try to write from a real place to real people. The gent that did the vocal work really grasped what I was writing about and brings that pain and stuff to the mike. He did and outstanding job with his contribution. The song would not be near what it is w/o him. You might try a band called Tourniquet. They're pretty heavy, but you liked this. They sing about real-life, dirty stuff. And they don't apologize for it. Thanks for listening.

beautful, well composed song. very uplifting.
Trippin Jam by faelin 4 years ago
thanks for stopping by. I have since re-formatted the song. I made it a bit longer, and turned off the delay on the "verse" parts to give it a bit more dynamic. I also sent the GB file off to another GB user to add words and re-name. I have high hopes in what he will do with it. so, when he sends it back, I plan to re-post as a full song. thanks for listening
Unto The Stars by voXager 4 years ago
very cool style. very sci-fi metal. i love the use of multiple vocals. very tight and surreal
Growl by faelin 4 years ago
i think that maybe some nice lead fills and some vocals will fill it out well. However, a lead player i am not. not much of a singer, but that's why metal rocks!!! don't need to be, but i don't have anything to "growl" about yet. thanks for listening though
