| Atonalisms - Two by soulima | 7 days ago |
| Much enjoyed - glad the music sticks around for a little while, too. OIddly enough, the piece just does not come off as atonal as there seems to be much recurrence and continuity in pitch materials not unlike the music of Stravinsky's early ballet period. | |
| You Don't Know What Love Is by LaFayette | 9 days ago |
| Beautifully written, performed, and recorded. I would suggest just a touch of compression on the vocal as a few of the syllables get lost in the mix. | |
| Atonalisms - One by soulima | 9 days ago |
| Now that was really, really short. Good thing we can play again immediately. Lol! I swear there is a thread of tonality in there somewhere. Of course, human beings are apt to hear tonality even when the composer conceives it not - something to do with survival instinct. It is rare to combine large orchestral force with short utterance. Look forward to hearing followup movements. | |

| Interesting panning. We would normally expect to hear the basses either to the right or non-directionally down the center but this does sound very fresh the way it is. Beautiful development as always and fantastic use of orchestral loops. Always appreciate your use of high contrast and of structural clarity. I hear a little lyrical James Horner in there as well. | |

| Great backing track, too. Did you play from a written chart or improvise as you went along. Also appreciate all the historical info. (Remember Taco's hip version from the 1980's?) |

| Nothing quite like live performance and ambience. Good band, nice guitar. The vocal reminds me of George Michael, which means it is fantastic. | |

| Excerpts from 'Star Wars' by soulima | 1 month ago |
| Totally neat, and a whole lotta work I bet. I wonder if the recording might benefit from a few touches of reverb on certain instruments to capture something of that three-dimensional space you hear in live situation (some instruments closer and others farther away). Are you working from a John Williams score? If so, where did you get it? | |

| The End of Sickness and Death by Justin_Case | 3 months ago |

| Original Rags (1897) by georgeptingley | 4 months ago |
| A and B sections are in the key of G major. The C section is in C major. The return of the A section, of course, brings us back to G major. The D section is in D major and the final E section returns full circle back to G major. Overall, the piece begins in the tonic key (G major) moves to the subdominant key (C major) returns back to the tonic, moves to the dominant key (D major) before finally resolving back to the tonic Relationship of keys should be thought of in the following way: Dominant (by definition, the 5th above the tonic) Tonic Subdominant (by definition, the 5th below the tonic)) Notice the beautiful symmetry of keys! |

| Piano Exercises by telo12 | 4 months ago |
| I hear those common chords which effect smooth modulations to dominant and subdominant keys. One of the saddest notes in all of music, of course, is bringing in the lowered 6th scale degree into a major key. We hear a few of those as well. Nice chordal demonstration. | |
| Pachelbel's Canon (Canon in D Major) by soulima | 4 months ago |
| Thanks for setting the record straight on the proper performance of this piece. Additionally, Baroque composers most often reserved the key of D major for joyous and enlivening material. (Shame on Mr. Paillard! LOL) | |

| Adieu Oh Lovely Spring [for brass] by davidsmith99 | 4 months ago |

| Waltz for Diverse Plucked Strings by byHeart | 4 months ago |
| Really lovely work. I've also been doing a bit of work with plucked strings as of late. Something very intimate about the sound. Contrasts between guitar and harp, dry and reverb, simple and complex harmony work beautifully here. You might consider upgrading to LogicExpress to access guitars with some very realistic scratches and scrapes. |

| Jam Down (country Swing) by ShadowofNine | 4 months ago |
| Always refreshing to hear a bit of Americana coming through here on iComps if you know what I mean. Their is such a rich history that should not be simply ignored or forgotten. Hope this is just the beginning of such productions and that there might be more to come. Only criticism is that the recording sounds mono and would greatly profit from some panning. It would be nice to be able to visualize and hear the placement of the various instruments on the sound stage. | |

| My favorite Romantic music is that which shows the greatest restraint- in both time and resources, miniatures in which every note is heard and experienced. This is it. | |
| Tribute to Lou Rawls by morgan102 | 5 months ago |
| Good voice. Wish the lead voice had a little more presence. You might consider copying the track, then panning the two voice tracks apart and applying some contrasting EQ. Also add a little reverb or delay to one of the tracks. Worth experimenting. Best wishes. | |
