Biography

Gomer Hendrix is a fun and upbeat musical entertainer. Whether he's playing a solo acoustic show or with his typical three piece band he can do a wide variety of popular hit songs. His repertoire covers the 50s and all the way up through todays top popular music. Among these well known songs are proven crowd pleasers that include his very own original music. Often these original songs are humorous and danceable. A typical party dance engagement will include songs and medlys of dance hits from the 70s and 80s. Many classic R&B, classic rock, and disco songs are among these dance party favorites. Gomer Hendrix was influenced at an early age by Frank Zappa and Weird Al Yankovic. There are many artists he's proud to cover, but it was mainly these two guys and Oingo Boingo that inspired him to write his own style of music. He's been to every State in the U.S., played some in Europe, and Mexico. He's done a wide variety of engagements as performing for thousands at a President Reagon benefit (the Hilton where he got shot, but it only winged him) to 2 dudes in a bar in Alabama - and everything in between. Gomer has appeared in San Francisco bay area clubs, on radio stations KZSU Stanford, Radio Free Berkeley, KPFA Berkeley, SFSound Comcast, Pacifica's Laugh Locally program, and on the Bruce Latimer show. He can entertain crowds with a band, or with just his voice and an acoustic guitar. He has also performed in France, Germany, England, Holland, Spain, and Ireland.
