Happiness (AET) by becwil 1 month ago
quite amazing stuff full of momentum and energy.. and joy of living...The happiness you're evoking here is that of a child unconstrained by rules I guess, it's kind of tribal..
music and production here are top notch!
London Calling (The Clash cover) by zallaz 1 month ago
Great..your spoken delivery and I like the radio echo of your vocal in the other speaker..
Acoustic guitar nice and raw...you wouldn't want to overproduce a song like this!
I saw the Clash once down here in Perth..unfortunately they were a bit jet lagged or something so not up to what they could be..big fan though, esp. of the London Calling album (one of the greatest albums of all time etc. etc.)

I don't know the song (randomly selected to listen because I liked the title) but I do like a lot of Midnight Oil. This is very nice and well played. The guitar playing is indeed very sweet. Sorry you have lost a friend. : (

Nice minor chord sequence composition..the triplet run took me by surprise
...and the organ and bossa nova (?) beat even more (in a pleasant way)..

Your performance and the chord sequence open up an original, very creative vista.
Again your lyric seems to seems to have flowered (excuse the pun) quite spontaneously from the music!

Your lyric and lovely singing seem perfect for Bryn's composition..this is a beautiful track- like a breath of fresh air or a light shower on a sunny morning..

Actually..some interesting sounds..you can just pick out the banjo, sort of like it's been left outside in the elements for several years..
Thanks

This is very well put together..you are very talented! Good song which I would have thought would have commercial potential.
I kind of like slightly distorted old things with static so I didn't notice any problem ; )

Katherine by pharmakeus 10 months ago
This is beautifully put together from the melancholic quiver in your (fine) baritone to the warm guitar tones to the tasty reverb and goddam fine production. Very expressive vox! Very impressive.. : )

Best Country music I've heard in a while. No country for old men though I guess..
Great stuff..I had to switch to the headphones because the kids were in earshot then I remembered it's nearly 2011 and they probably wouldn't even notice the lyrics..
SunShine of My Dreams (Sketch) by Mungo 1 year ago
crisp and fresh, stuttery beat, cool sounds; the opening melody is catchy and vaguely reminiscent of some tune (always a good sign for me) but the whole piece has a fresh, original feel..
Did I ever mention that I'm very impressed with your music?

This is certainly restful and meditative with some lovely sound blending going on, although it does arch up into more progressive territory half way through (like walking up mountains- harder work but lovely views). Nice work...

Thanks Brent. I wish I had your facility for a cracking pop song.
Actually the (midi) trumpet bit was the easiest part..
The verse is a little bit weak..Maybe the song should start with the end part and it should be repeated more often like a dance tune..

A Matter of Time (v2) by Mungo 1 year ago
No problems..actually I'm certainly no expert on 'metal machine music' but I appreciate this piece and all things experimental..
Actually I do rather find labeling and genres somewhat limiting!
A Matter of Time (v2) by Mungo 1 year ago
I think I'd slot this one into the ambient genre. Ambient doesn't have to be pretty.
You gotta love distortion though..
Thanks for uploading this one.
The sparse drum beats up the ominous factor

One of your best I think!
Ode to Love by 4arms 1 year ago
Hi Brent. Liked this one a lot. I'm a sucker for the muted organ..gives things a spiritual rather than funereal(!) feel. Affecting singing and lyrics with a nice touch of reverb . Elegiac. Beautifully done...

Amazing..so much in one song and all really explosive, bursting with musical power. I like the way the music is triumphant and joyous and the lyrics are dark..
The Shield of Achilles (HTB) by becwil 2 years ago
Hi Bec...this music seems to evoke history, the passage of time, currents and connections between modern times and remote antiquity.. I am not saying this very well- maybe it's the unusual scales you use, the sense of the music going in several directions at once. Anyway I like it and have favourited accordingly.

Knell (Sketch) by Mungo 2 years ago
I'm a little baffled by the song information..there's a limit to the size of the files we can upload, right? Actually the song info is pretty cool and feels like part of the whole piece..sort of an instillation
It's a great piece of ambient music and it's captivating that somehow its complexity and bandwith takes so long to touch down in the player! Some kind of gargantuan alien craft

Two Houses by fuzzynormal 2 years ago
Good song and good playing..on my admittedly crap set of speakers the bass sounds kind of muddy...I think you'll get more punch and definition with the old roll off under 50 Hz. You might need to bring out higher frequencies on the vox too.
