Biography
Greetings from GRATHY, also know to some as Mary McGrath.
As a musician, primarily I'm a jazz vocalist. Some of my vocal influences include Diana Krall, Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Buble and Sarah Vaughn. I love to scat, and also compose a bit, largely incorporating vocals into my own creations. But I really prefer to collaborate, usually adding lyrics and vocals into others creations.
Last year, a few of us on icomp collaborated on a CD. It was a very enjoyable project, a bit like Sade fused with a jazzy loungy flair.

My first CD combines Electronica, World, Cinematic themes and some alternative styles. It was featured on Craigsmusic.net and KYOUR Radio in San Francisco.

Beyond music, I'm also a freelance writer and photographer. My work has been featured in a number of magazines, newspapers, books and on several web sites. Some of these include Newsweek, Rangefinder Magazine, Good Housekeeping, The National Lampoon, Shutterbug Magazine, Copley Newspapers, and many other publications.
I was recently featured in the Wall St. Journal regarding my creative endeavors.

I'm enjoying learning from all of you, since I largely compose by ear. You're all an inspiration, and I thank you for your support!
