Thank you. Here's the lyrics

not on the agenda

look at all the people
look at all the land
are we building for the future
or the businessman at hand?

can’t even drive for miles
to find a quiet place
they've been privatized in parcels
we got to change our ways

caught in speculation
can’t admit the truth
the future is our children
we can’t afford to lose

if you even count by millions
a trillion’s far from close
we can live immortal future
when this debt becomes our ghost

and when you see it that way
your voice gets lost in cries
you’re not on the agenda
you’re subtly pushed aside

caught in speculation
can’t admit the truth
the future is our children
we can’t afford to lose

I like this song. It reminds me somewhat of Stan Rogers. You have a classic folk voice, and the piece has excellent lyrics. I found the guitaring clean and waltzy...really enjoyable.

I hope to hear more. Thanks for sharing.

It has moods and plenty of guitar parts I could never begin to play. I like that.

The setup I use is pretty shoe-string. I went for pretty much cheap as possible...

I have a eight year old Martin DC-1 with a Thinline pickup. I bought it used from another teacher in Stebbins, AK and I really like the instrument. The Thinline pickup is obviously ineffective by itself (as it is not powered) and I bought a cheap pre-amp to help it along (Ultra-PDI...Ultra-Sound). I use an M-Audio Mobile Pre to send it to an almost four year old G4 laptop (500mhz).

The mike is a Beta58, but is only for vocals. Not quite a studio mike, so levels are annoying.

All that said...really old strings are being used; the setup seems to "get" treble. Sometimes the bass can leave something to be desired when little nobs aren't adjusted correctly. Nob wise, I up the base quite a few notches, and the treble just a few.

I appreciate the build in this piece...kind of an old a capella spiritual. Forgive ignorance, but did you write it?

Coordinating all the voices is difficult but well done. Thanks for sharing.

Much appreciated Matt. This is my genre of choice as a listener too. Since I've been following this site I keep hoping more people will start posting here...I guess I had to contribute too.

It isn't the simplest to put yourself out there. Thanks again.
