| I like old stuff.. i have a 1976 Tama Swingstar kit(No Zola coating on the inside as they usually did) 12" 13" 16" 16" 14"x5" 22"x14"x2. Old Carl Hoyer SG copy from 1960-70. Paiste 22" 2002 black label from the late 60's start of the 70's. Ludwig speedking pedal from 1969 i think. Kasuga D-200 acoustic guitar from the 70's, a copy of a martin which involved the tokai people |

| I see no problem in giving the artists a last pad on the shoulder, maybe the admins could change data in the profile of artist so you're not sending mails to a person that is not responding cause they are not here anymore. There's a lot of artists on this side that aren't with us but their music lives on. "artist has gone to Icomp heaven and playing in a big band,with some wonderful musicians" otherwise it can stay the same, it's not really a big deal to me, my uncle is still here even though he is not here at all.. |

| Laptops are not build to play bass I only have some 5" and there is bass, not much but it is there, a tad more would be good, the tomtoms are much more bassy sounding. I use my headphones when recording (not annoying the neighbourhood) and my speakers for mixing, not that i do much mixing. cool tune |

| My 1st computer was a 286 which i bought with fltunes. my 2nd one was a 486DX2 in 1994 i think. then i didnt have a computer until 2004 and that was a pentium4, since 2006 i have had mac G4,G5 MacPro Quad,Macbbok Pro, 2x dual core windoze pc's which i sold very cheap cause they wasnt good for doing music. Currently running imac 27" i5 and i love it You better belive it: "Once you go mac you won't go back" |

| I am not a sheep therefor i always question authority and think by myself, things are not always as they seem to be, there's not only black and white and no "do as i say", there's always room for some nice colors and dialogue. I dont hate authorities i quastion them and that's a big difference. I do not know if you where referring to the icomp moderators ? in that case i am always up for some questioning as long as it is kept in a sober manner. I am actually a nice guy but since english isnt my #1 language i tend to be implied in a lot of dumb misunderstandings pardon my bad french |

| The dude that made it (a dane) has sold his last 14 % and is now filthy rich.. and this is the second time he sells skype, well the last portion at least. he have the sourcecode and such so he prolly do a re-run later on with a different name. The only problem as i see it is that microsoft are to slow with their updates and that can lead to some issues.. otherwise i dont think there's any changes. |

| Horns in Logic can sound ok with some eq tweaking and compressor.. same goes for garageband i think, just pick the ones that sounds closest to the sound you want in the end.. i hardly ever use horns cause it takes a lot of work to make them sound less synthy |

| So plugging is ok as long as "we" the users plug other artists ? All i see is admins saying don't plug and plug only when it is relevant to the chat, if we talk about music and artists (which we do all the time) why not just kill the songplug and we can live happily ever after ? |

| "Listening to" is a songplug without the plug as i see it, is the songplug just forbidden to keep admins busy then ? I mean "listening to" has the same idea to make people interrested but without the direct link. Am I the only one thinking this or does others think the same ? this is not to make the admins feel bad or bossy, but i do think it is a topic the community should look at. |

| usually cubase LE (light edition) comes with various soundcards/interfaces in the box for free.. for pc i would pick cubase for mac i would pick Logic. I have tried many different daws and the one i really didnt like was Digidesign pro tools 7.0 it looked to me like windows 3.11 and behaved the same way.. glad i switched to logic it has it all, fx/instruments/plugins you name it and it is in the box. |

| The best way to get plays is to play others music and leave a comment, then people think "aha i gotta go listen to that artist" and saying hello in the chat is also a good idea.. You can also try the "Official Song Plugging Thread" in the forums and make sure you get seen everywhere. | I use both logic Studio 8 and garageband. Garageband is easy to get it down on track, logic is really great to mix/record in with a lot of possibilities.. it has bus channels which is great, i'm still learning to use it properly. Logic has drums,synths,guitars,bass,strings.. you name it logic got it. I started out with Pro tools & garageband and sampletank 2XL on my first mac and sampletank is really cool and affordable. I never liked Pro tools at all. I have also been working with Fruityloops many years ago, i think it has it's limits, maybe thats just me. Logic & GB is what i prefer |

| if you eq your tracks it helps, cut off some of the frequencies not needed for the instrument and tweak the needed ones up a little= less rumble and it gets clearer and then your rolling. Gb has some autothingy "sound improving normalize" stuff you can bypass somewhere in the menu and exactly what you like then. | If Theres something i dislike it has to be what the young people call goth/emo, it starts with an intro and ends with an outro and all in between makes me puke, it's basically just pop wiht a drop d guitar some distortion and no balls singer, that thinks she or he is an opera singer. | I got the io26 and it's heavy and built like a tank. pre amps sounds good and it's easy to use.. I went from onboard to maya pci to digi002 then TC 24D and now alesis io26. I Do think TC is very very good and i would like to save up of for their pro stuff like konnekt 48 or something like that |

| The reason why i think about the alesis is that it has 8 ins simultanious and also have 2 adat in's and since i already have an adat wit 8 inputs i would have 16 and no fuzz with buttons i have to push like i do on the tc konnekt. my tc has 8 ins but it can only handle 4 for recording at the same time. we are 6 in the band so i quickly run out of channels. my konnekt and the adat provides me with 12 channels and thats even not enough for drums.. hehe Thanks for your input i will go for the alesis io26 it seems so easy to use and hopefully it will do good for a few years. I do know Motu makes some excellent interfaces but i'm on a budget so i have to go with alesis. |

| I have been thinking about getting me the Alesis io26, have any of you tried it and what do you think of it ? Any good ideas on whats hot and whats not ? What should i stay away from and what is reliable. I use tiger on a mac G5 rigt now (temporarily) but it works very well with My Tc-konnekt 24D which is about to retire. |
