Biography
I figure it's about time I rewrite this thing. Let's see: I'm 52 now, father of 3 boys, happily married- picked up the harmonica in college and used to keep it on the dash of my car to blow when I was stuck in traffic, played in one college band, bought my guitar (Guild D4) after graduating, was in a basement band The Mumblers in '79, moved to LA to teach school, found my first mandolin in a music shop in San Diego, off to Grad School in Pschology in Atlanta where I joined the Schitzophonics, sang lead and played harp for them (we had a reunion 5 years ago that was awesome-full rock and roll stage setup). Other bands: Gay and the Straights (the lead singer was named Gay), Going Once (an amazing group of musicians that was hard to keep together), and most recently Shades of Gray, a band of friends I put together for my 50th birthday, 2-day, 4-song recording session (you can find those songs below). Now, Shades II is in the works with new versions of songs that I developed here.
Thank you icomp. I have found a community of artists here and have grown as a musician, singer, songwriter and producer. But the comraderie and friendship is the best part.
Let me know if you need a singer, if you've got a good piece of music that needs lyrics or if some harmonica or mandolin would work in your song.
