I'm really a neophyte when it comes to music. I started getting interested a couple of years ago. Singing was always something I did for myself, but I had never performed for an audience until 2005. Since then I've perform in a number of community musicals and with a local R&B band. Performing is fun, but last year I tried some writing and found that I really enjoyed the process. So at age 44 I've found a new hobby / obsession and I think I look at the world in a slightly different way now.

I strive for a number of things when writing and performing. When writing, I search for what I call "sound shapes". Words and music that fuse together to form a feeling. It honestly feels good when the words come out of my mouth. Also important is the meaning of the lyrics. I like ambiguity in lyrics. Ideas and phrases that can evoke images and thoughts in the listener that are not necessarily what I intended.

I think I'm pretty much addicted to writing and singing and I know at some point I'm going to produce an Album.
