So Very Hard To Go (Cover) by music_man 1 year ago
Your playing in my fantasy band, I'm both jealous and highly impressed. Rocco is probably the main reason I play the bass, and I listen to TOP constantly. This is an impressive cover, both honoring the original, and giving it an excellent update.

Standing On Shaky Ground - Cover by jkramer5 1 year ago
lol thanks for the nice comments, yeah 2008, and yeah sleeping and eating with it. I play anywhere from 4 to 6 hours a day, off and on.

i played the drums for a long time, and plink a guitar badly, mostly bass line on an old crappy acoustid at different time. It got booring thos and was just a passtime. I got my first bass July 5th , 08, now I own 9 of them lol.

if you ever need a bass on something look me up.

Thanks so much for adding your vocal to this. It turned a jam into a song.

Little hooligan has good ears, altho I've heard various versions of this over the years, the version I made is based on one from a Stevie Wonder concert bootleg.

Thank you for your comments.

To all those that responded about collaborating, this project is on hold, indefinitely. Real life got very very heavy a couple days ago. Don't know when I'll be able to return to this, sorry.

Zero in Twos (Analog-recorded 1969) by Gregdz 2 years ago
Aww man, this is awesome! James Gang meets Chocolate Watchband. It's perfect and of the analog sound of this violated some sort of rule, that rule should be crushed and burned and melted and buried. This is so awesome, like a time capsule. Thanks so much for uploading it.

Boogie On Reggae Woman - The Video by jkramer5 2 years ago
I wish I could. I'm totally self taught. I don't know a single scale by name, can't tell you what note names i'm playing beyond open strings and have horrible technique. I started playing July of 08 and found youtube to be invaluable for learning. Search for MarloweDk there and follow the links to his website.

Since I began playing I've immersed myself in the recordings and videos of the masters of soul, old school R&B and funk from the 70's and 80's. so many groups and players. Louis Johnson, Slave, Parliment, Con Funk Shun, Macep Parker, James Brown, Steely Dan (Chuck Rainey on bass) The Ohio Players, Tower Of Power (Rocco Prestia) Earth, Wind & Fire (Verdine White) and of course, the absolute king of groovey bass, James Jamerson. These are just a few, there is sooooo much good music from that era. I listened to the hits back then, but there is so much more to discover, it's like listening to new music for me.

I play every day, I think that's accelerated by playing a lot. MarlowDk (Thomas Rissel) is an amazing player to watch and listen to. he's got a TON of instructional material on his site and on youtube, all free.

Little Sunflower - Cover by jkramer5 2 years ago
I use existing files for the most part. From all sorts of sources. Some of them need a lot of work, and others are pretty much ok. I used Cubase SX for a long time and have recently switched to Logic Studio 9.

Thanks for taking the time to comment
