| A Captain's Carol by herrsolera | 2 years ago |
| A Captain's Carol is a very powerful blend of familiar melodies, the symphonic/bombastic, raw power and excellent sense of sound. In its moments of grandeur (the opening), of joyful lilting melodies (1/3th on), of atmospheric soundscapes (1/2 way through), this medley is masterfully done. I'm not familiar with all the tunes, but this composition just makes me want to get up, and, with the biggest grin you've ever seen, go outside and play in the snow ![]() Awesome! |

| [Shadows] Eternal by Eidolonia | 4 years ago |
| I love the tempo changes and those subtle keyboard parts. And that repetitive riff is... epic. Although perhaps one more element can make it more engaging. On the pleasantness scale, though, it's up there. That last bit reminds me of Edguy's "Vain Glory Opera" (the song). Good job! | |
| When the Machine Stops by livatlantis | 4 years ago |
Thanks, guys! ![]() @herr: Yep, others have said too; perhaps I should trim down the reverb quite a bit on both the vocals and that little bridge. I really wanted to bring the guitars up a little, but all I have for the rythm and drums is a single mixdown from years ago. So can't adjust volume for just the guitars. Thanks for a detailed response - really appreciate it! |

| It's amazing how just one acoustic instrument can contribute to creating this mood; the minimalism really works, this song is beautiful! (I love how you use rests/silence as an instrument almost) | |
| Collaboration-Himalayan Trance by DavidBowles | 4 years ago |
Being from the land of the Himalayas (although I've never climbed or come close to a mountain, sadly), I must say the chanting is very impressive! Tibetan monks, of course, sing very deep and low: the intro chanting comes very close. And with the drums and strings and whatnot... wow ![]() |

| Sidewalks by Rusticalia | 4 years ago |
| It's nice and serene; kinda reminds me of a lazy Sunday, in a hammock, in the sun, half-awake, pretending to read Reader's Digest. Just add Carla Bruni on vocals and you've got something here. | |
| Here's to the Gentleman by herrsolera | 4 years ago |
| Fantastic!! Traces of Savatage as well. Very epic (I love epic!) and meaty (worship meaty), with hints of Kamelot too. Not a fan of growling, but it really went with the atmosphere. The violins give the song it's character -- amazing collab! The whole build up, the different 'settings' almost, and a sort of orchestral coming together of it all. I love it! Great work, guys! |

| He's a Pirate (Klaus Badelt Cover) by herrsolera | 4 years ago |
| As a fan of the Pirates soundtracks (and movies, of course) and the work of Badelt/Zimmer: wow! It's simply amazing that you did this in GarageBand. It's very close to the original indeed! Definitely a favorite. Ah, now you've got me wanting for a cover of Zimmer's 'At World's End'! ![]() |

Don't ask why, but I think this would be great backing for a bank robbery scene in a movie. Very funky! |
|
| Atomica by vegetal | 4 years ago |
| The atmosphere is awesome - thick drums, nice melodic guitas, a smooth production. The vocals are understandably a bit distorted. Nice song! | |
| Engage After Six A.M. by vegetal | 4 years ago |
Very headbang-able indeed Love the old, dark sci-fi world feel to it. I'm actually thinking this would make excellent music for Unreal Tournament Nice! |

| Yeah, a couple of people have suggested that and it definitely sounds nice. (Maybe even with the two pans on either direction, and one in the middle that flanges a little). Looking forward to the CD - I'm excited. I do normally do fast songs, but hey, I'm open to anything. | |

I really enjoyed this! lol Love the intro guitars, the modified chorus, warm back vocals. Very danceable ![]() |

| Come Together (Cover) by paragsatyal | 5 years ago |
Love the mix - it's got an old, rough feel to it. Very Beatlesy! And very funky, very smooth The "bass" solo, and your signature squeaky guitar solo is definitely you (is that a bit of reggae I hear there?) lol. This would be fun live! ![]() |

| The Aliens are Breeding With The Humans by artist08 | 5 years ago |
| Got here from the iComp newsletter. Very different type of music from what I'm used to, and I enjoyed it, especially the spooky atmosphere. The production's top-notch. Distant. Definitely spooky. | |

Ah, thanks jayman, that's definitely something to look into. Cut down the mids, up the bass and maybe a little on the other end too. Got it! ![]() |

| Voices Elsewhere (ADE) by becwil | 5 years ago |
| I love the natural texture to your creations. Really, this makes me stop and wonder. Not exactly sure what about, but I get strangely curious - perhaps it's the weird "creature-like" sounds and the percussions. Other world music. | |
| Time Will Tell by Baboon | 5 years ago |
| Quite an experience - thoroughly enjoyed it! The atmosphere is built up excellently. I love the epic. Inspiring, Amazing! | |
| Influenced Virtuality by livatlantis | 5 years ago |
| Hey Rebecca, thanks. Most other tunes sound okay, it seems to be just this and a couple others. I have no idea why, but I'll see if a few tweaks will fix it. When I mix, I worry sometimes of distancing the riff and the solo, so I keep the solo slightly low. And a lot of people complain about how the vocals take a backseat to the guitars, so I tried not to do that here, although maybe you're right - the guitars could be brought up a little. |

| Yep, it's ridiculously useful. And, considering you can edit the notes once you've inputted them if you like, a great tool when doing short particles like this one. | |

| Very headbangable! Love the riff and the solo sound. What did you program the drums in? |
|
| one by AbramHollon | 5 years ago |
| A highly trained group of experts getting mission-critical work done with suprising ease and fluidity. That's what 'one' brings to mind. The early high string notes and chimes signal something potentially tense taking place, the ambulance sound calmly hammers that that idea of urgency. The repetition of that sound, however, distracts from this effect. I like it! Tense, fun and cool. |

| ultimate limit by SebastienGabriel | 5 years ago |
| Loved it! A fun song, I like your playing. And the effects, too (reminds of Sonata Arctica and Luca Turrili). I love the modern sounds complementing the classical - percussion-wise and with all those weird effects. The bass stands out, keeps that "classical" feel going (I like the tone). The smooth sound in the middle I like. Come to think of it, Steve Vai's "Building a Church" also comes to mind. And Europe too, maybe. About all these fragmented sentences - I try to get my thoughts down as I hear the song, so... *ahem*. Ah, that last riff. Sounds like something Kai Hansen would include. There are so many things I love about 'ultimate limit', although I'll admit, I don't exactly follow the whole thing (those crazy keyboards, for one, freak me out). Great tune, great parts and rather eclectic I'd say (even heard what sounded a bit Eguptian, lol). Fantastic. |

| Signs of Relief by macdude02 | 5 years ago |
| I like the smooth (yet, somehow tense by the contrasting leading guitar sound). The percussions work very well, nicely blended. The lead, though, seems somewhat out of place at a few places. I love the moody guitar tone. Driving alone on a cold rainy day amidst unmerciful bright lights and the rush of an unforgiving city. I enjoyed 'Signs of Relief'. I think it's a very visual tune. |

| 03 UFOs Over Lebanon, IL by electrosketch | 5 years ago |
| Mysterious. Slightly disturbing. Chaotic. I love it! I can easily see this being used in a nice movie scene: Some person exploring his fragmented thoughts real deep, or someone about to do something insanely dangerous. Great! |

Hey jayman, glad you liked it. Yep, a lot of Particle Engine will be as short. It's a sort of experiment, but there are longer, full-length type of things too. |

|
| Hate by megatrash | 5 years ago |
| I like the "confused" feeling it has - switching from structured 'wide' riffs, to smooth, more free-flowing solo-y ones. The guitar sounds like it's in control; the breaks in between allow to take a breather after a barrage of chaotic riffs. In a word: great! Melodic, chaotic. I love paradoxi! ![]() |

| Got it! Thanks, I'm working on a more harder sound... a thump. That's definitely something to think about for my other songs as well. | |
| Dreams to Illusions by livatlantis | 6 years ago |
| Well, if its a major change - adding keyboard the entire length, for example - then I'll add it here. Else, if I'm only working with the sound, but the same content, I thought it would look disorganized to have version 1 and 2. | |
| Dreams to Illusions by livatlantis | 6 years ago |
| I'll try some more reverb on the drums and see how it sounds. After taking suggestions from iComp, I plan to upload updated version in my website soon, so the improved versions can be got from there later. Thanks for the tip! ![]() |

| Metal_13 by capa | 6 years ago |
![]() This is really nice! You're performace and style's really nice. The riffs, the solos - they're all excellent and the production's top notch. It's got a "feel" to it, and I like it. Did you program the drums, or are they recorded acoustic? Either way, it's really nice! The opening drum tracks didn't impress, but as I listened on... it's really great! Awesome job! The name of the song could have been better ![]() I can learn from your music. |

| Hey wampwamp, thanks for listening. Yep, the vocals were pretty experimental - modified Arena Rock for it! Some parts come out... well, distorted.Judas Priest! Wow, that's nice to hear lol Anyway, I tried that multiple track tip, with the same thing in both tracks, except with different reverbation. It sounds better ![]() |
|
| Beyond the Bold by livatlantis | 6 years ago |
| Hey! Thanks for understanding I appreciate it. And for the tip as well. The strange part is that when I recorded the guitars - I hadn't even tuned it to standard! Adding bass and keyboard would be difficult; that's why they're not there. lol! ![]() I'd love to hear more of your music, I think you've got a great sound. ![]() |
