Thanks for the positive comments guys. This was excellent fun to work on. Lili's lyrics and zallaz's hooky track totally inspired me. Lili, you've got to stop putting yourself down! Your lyrics are really special. You have the knack of coming up with something really original and keeping it dead simple. Your words really draw the listener in. Your delivery on this track is awesome too. As I've said to you before, you would have been a great collaborator with Tricky back in the mid 90s.

Lili, great little movie. Very nicely shot and edited. As usual, great words that grab you and make you think. Cool track too.

What a pair of gloriously twisted human beings you ae...and I mean that in the nicest way! Lilichi, I think you sound great on a real mic. You outdid yourself, your royal darkness! John, I love the bass sound. Great stuff.

Really like this a lot. Great vocal textures. Your doing some cool creative stuff SGF. and it all sounds good too. This reminds me of those Bulgarian singers, Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares a bit.

very dark, very powerful. unusual to hear guitar soloing through this kinda stuff but it works. Godd dynamic and textures.
Wait For The Weekend (open heart mix) by marksaund 6 years ago
thanks woodguy. it's a great concept for a song and a great lyric. the original version is very hooky and stuck in my head after one listen so I was very happy to get to play around with it. I love re-working tracks, finding new chord structures to fit an existing melody. I usually don't listen to something a lot after I just finished it but I think I played this mix more times in a row than anything else I ever worked on...seriously.
Wait For The Weekend (less invasive mix) by marksaund 6 years ago
thanks for your comments both of you. it was a load of fun working on both mixes of this song. I thought I'd freaked you both out with the "open heart" mix! I'd still like to have a bash at completely different version at some point!

Very hooky. Love the idea of combining heavy guitars with a Kraftwerk song.

Great song. My only suggestion would be to lower the female vocal a little bit in the mix, or preferably re-record it with a slightly brighter sound and have her sing a little breathier. Maybe breathier is not the right word but to me her vocal sounds a little thick in the mix.

This is very cool. I really like the vibe of this track, with the seventies Deep Purple organ and the heavy loops. I think your GF should sink it again though. She sounds better on your other song..performance wise. She's singing a little sharp in places. No big deal though, probably wasn't hearing herself too well.. Nice voice. It's stuck in my head already. Great bass and drums. Look forward to hearing more from you. This is my first few minutes as at this site so I'm pretty impressed. Keep it up!
