no clipping...just a megaphone effect to give it a raw feel. But, I can see where you might think that. Thanks for the heads up.

Excellent track. I love the ambiance it creates. Looking forward to hearing more in this genre from you. Great use of loops.

you guys are clipping out. It sounds like you are getting very distorted in the intro. Excellent tune, vocals are fantastic, the overall mix dynamic is excellent.

The breakdown is perfect. No clipping here, except for some cymbal crashes...excellent work. I would buy this album.

vocals and bass lines...thats what I need to be focusing on. we shall see when that will actually happen. Soon, I hope.

I am not one to ever rate a song....or favorite it....but, your vocals here are awesome. Reminds me of Eddie Vedder a bit...great song...great production. Excellent all around!

music sounds fantastic. But you honestly need to turn the guitars down in the mix....you are drowning out the vocals. Its like I am at concert at a horrible club. Great music...but, the PA sucks...and I can't hear the vocalist.

Remix this. Please. You have a great track here. Please remix this.

I use my guitar riffs...not all loops!
The Underground by martyrprojekt 3 years ago
it usually does not work...because they have a fundamental flaw....usually it is a house/ electronica guy making metal fusions. And they lack the experience. In this case, ypu have a metal guy...who understands both theories exstensively. And, I know how it should sound.

I am layering the guitars as if they are another synth...thats the answer. Never will you have a problem of mixing these genres again. ha ha ha...I think I shall call this fusion...Electro Satanica
Odin (actual song) by martyrprojekt 3 years ago
I look forwad to eido's comments...for sure I need tons more to finish this off..I think my little break has helped dramatically though.
Odin (actual song) by martyrprojekt 3 years ago
not just loops...I record all the guitars...the only loops are drums.
Malcontent by martyrprojekt 3 years ago
Eido, I totally agree with you...I am nowhere near a finished piece. These are all rough drafts. THey are just drums and rhythm guitars at this point. I am going to start bringing in more musicians on this projekt with me and you will se a final project posted. But, you gotta admit for drums and guitars this stuff kicks you pretty good...And yes there will be more changes made...more riffs added...solos added...bass lines added...and of course, vocals...All in good time my friend.

I thought people like to see a Flamenco Malagenia incorporated into a metal riff....Lets call this fusion....FLAMETAL
Servitude by martyrprojekt 3 years ago
Thanks for the comments guys. I am totally honored to get such high marks from this great community.

EIDO - I did not use a limiter. I spent almost 2 weeks dialing in my guitar sound...and I started using my new Basson Sound 4x12 Speaker Cabs (shameless promotion for a company that sponsers me). Honestly these cabs sound far better than any MESA or Marshall cabs I have owned. So far I am very impressed with them. Speakers make a huge difference. I was using Mesa before...and the sound speaks for itself.

With regards to vocals...here is where I am...I am having a hard time deciding between a couple different routes. I am hearing a female vocalist at times...and I hear a male vocalist at others. Honestly...I would love to collaborate with someone here as I feel I would not do it justice...but, I will give it a go. I am waiting to finish 12 new songs for a metal album...I am halfway through.

I will be going back to do vocals, basslines, etc....I am going to show the progression of these songs from a rough recording to polished end product.

It is going to ake me a few more months to complete everything and I wil be doing the vocals with my Buddy Mike Johnston who has worked with Static X, Chemical Brothers, Janes Addiction...to get a killer feel.

I never rate songs....ever. But, I will make an exception. Do add some effects to the main vocals during the verses's. It is TOO perfect. Needs to have the grit to it.

just wait until I get logic...this is all on GB at this point. Except for the drums...those were done with the help of protools.

Aren't all drummers inhuman monsters?
Decisions by kassia 3 years ago
An angelic perfection. I would love to make it a bit darker though...thats just my metal roots coming out and wanting to keep that feeling going.

Now that I have listened like 4 times...I love this even more. Keep working...with time brings perfection when we least expect it.

Allthough, I would normally agree with you Eido. When I speak of an European influence I am speaking of early Venom, Black Metal, Sabbath...etc.

I am heavily influenced by bands like Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, etc. (since my cousins are Eric and Brian Hoffman from Deicide...it is not shocking for me to say that).

I am just curious as to what bands in NU-metal used any of the drum lines, technical playing, Speed riffs, etc....that I am using. Honestly, that dead genre is an excuse to classify any band or artist from a certain time period. Hell, they classified System of a Down as NU-Metal. Just because there are no solos (yet)...does not mean it is NU-metal...In fact, be patient and there will be. ha ha ha!

I would normally find myself agreeing with you...but, nu-metal is a sin and my stylings have no bearing in or from NU-metal. It is actually funny to hear someone say that...since I would always be the one in the band who would say the music is not dark enough and I actually left HED PE...simply because they were bowing to the label who was wanting NU-metal instead of real music.

Anger, Hatred, Violation, Murder, Death....is what my music is about. Not some fad that ruined metal and everything it stands for.

Burning Bridges by martyrprojekt 3 years ago
not offended at all. It does seem very commercial. Commercial music is all I have ever composed. But, I am going for something a bit raw. I guess I can not help all label's mindless crap shovel fed to me over the years. I am probably in the process of manual regurgitation...hahaha
Zombie acoustic (cranberries) by eddyhate 3 years ago
honestly, the guitars are lacking. The intro is super weak because you are having a lot of trouble playing to the metronome...and you have it set to slow. Vocals are very karaoke almost like I am at a musical. This song is meant to have some grit to it. I do not feel the pain that this song speaks of.

yeah...i am having a horrible time with my outboard gear....I am getting this farty tone from my guitar....gotta rebuild the sound from the ground up.

nice ambient sound to this one. I used this same loop on one of my songs called Faded...you might dig what I did with it...as I went an entirely different direction.
After You by martyrprojekt 3 years ago
Never thought my grunge influence was noticeable in this one. Good call though. I did spend a summer on a tour bus with Jerry Cantrell. That did influence me heavily. Seattle's sound needs to make a comeback.
