I'm Mel: 19, Kansan (Wichitan-Lawrencian), a teacher, a musician (violinist-composer), a traveler, a reader, an adventuress.

I'm a music education major at the University of Kansas, and I've been playing the violin since I was 10. Favorite music includes Brahms, the Schumanns, Mendelssohn, Dvorak, Mahler, the Beatles, the Barenaked Ladies, John Cage, the Decemberists, Philip Glass, R. Strauss, some rap, some country, or anything psychedelic/experimental. My roommates and I make ridiculous music while on drugs. I wish I had written the "American" quartet.
