| nice beat, i think you're right about it being suitable for ethnic drums. i can hear this beat used with a lot of different types of drums. | |

| ABBA - Like an angel passing through my room by ihussain | 5 months ago |
| cool rendition. i always liked ABBA in an ironic, campy sort of way, but as I got further away from it I realized what a sophisticated sense of melody and harmony they often had. this is really beautiful. thanks. | |

| thanks Kevin, I don't know why these guys aren't more historically significant. they had some great songs, an amazing singer; they pretty much invented indie pop. | |

| Dancing Barefoot (patti smith cover) by michael2 | 2 years ago |
| thanks guys. rocha, the repeated drum roll is because I chopped up about a minute of jazz drums that I had. weren't many fills. I thought the same thing, but tried to tell myself that it was a "part" not a fill. manfrom texas: thanks so much for digging into the archives. i actually have like 200 songs up at macjams, always forget I belong ti icomp as well dylennon: thanks man, I am starting to like them better. |

| Dancing Barefoot (patti smith cover) by michael2 | 2 years ago |
| thanks for the kind comments guys. Andy those are good tips. I usually build the song and then add the vocals in, so this definitely something new to try. making notes of your other advice. thanks a bunch. | |
| Dancing Barefoot (patti smith cover) by michael2 | 2 years ago |
| guess the tough part is that in "rock" there is a constant onslaught of sound, and in other types of music you will have things drifting in and out (making them more manageable). the vox were difficult for me in here, as I wanted them sort of buried (as shadowofnine says), but still audible. will try Bryns suggestion (been meaning to investigate groups). I guess the main problem was trying to make it sound like it was in the same space. since the drums were from some 60's recording session that I sliced up and rebuilt, they have a definite sound that makes them hard to match (for me at least). thanks for the kind words and suggestions. |

| Dirigent, you did a really nice vocal over the track. was very interesting how it all came together. Luna was very kind to offer up his cello bit for my manipulative purposes, and i'm glad you hopped on as well. thanks guys. wow, now i am on icomp twice, maybe i'll start posting here regularly. | |
