Thanks for all your lovely comments. They inspire me to do more of this.
Don't forget to check out grathys "My Darkest Hour" where she's added music to this. Or "Death touches my heart v2" where Distpedal added music to another of my pieces.

Cheers

Cool to hear music to it. I'm really into the idea of doing the lyrics and music seperately now. It's so much fun to hear someone else's musical interpretation of my words, the result is somehow bigger than the sum of the two parts. Distpedal did the same thing with "Death touches my heart". (sorry about the plug)

Thanks Grathy

Yepp, trouble is that when I felt well enough to write I couldn't quite remember the way I felt when it was bad. "Death touches my heart" is a better description, but I want to start creating stuff now so I've started digging through old papers and recording anything I find.

This sounds like a classic right from the start, like what you've done with the vocals too.

I agree with most of the comments already, your voice is terrific on this. This was one of my favourite tunes as a teenager, new it off by heart and this is a great cover.

One of my favourite last night of the proms songs. Your version is a bit too fast for me though, feels rushed, maybe I'm just too conservative.

I love this song, I used to sing my kids to sleep with this. Your version is just perfect, well done.

Love this, so earie. Have you thought about reading the text into it?

I Still Care 4 U by Psykosoul 3 years ago
Yepp this should definately stay up here. Lovely tune. Only problem I have is part of the drums are a bit too loud, they sort of stab out and spoil the smoothness. Still a great tune though.

It doesn't suck, but it doesn't really take off either. It is a nice little track though, reminds of a cd I bought with tunes for meditation.

This is hillarious, the whole thing and the fact that you ran out of patience and just ended is is the icing on the cake. Excellent

Excellent, I love Mandikas voice and poetry and this music backed it up wonderfully.

I think the musics ok, maybe bring the volume down a bit in places but I think it works well. I liked this a lot.

Dark Sands of the Desert by keedragoon 3 years ago
Very Jim Morrison and the Doors. The only thing I can think of to improve it is the mic-technique. There are some unwanted puffs there, maybe back off from the mic a bit or have some protection over it.

Check out Distpedals video. It's VERY arty with a bit of Blair Witch feel to it.

Screw You by Dyl 3 years ago
This is great on so many levels. The way the song switches back and forth between the hard and soft, the guitar driving it forward and the trumpet providing a hot, dusty, cowboy background. The voices really complement and challenge each other all the way. Reminds me of Nick Cave stuff.
Really enjoyed this.

I didn't think much to this at first until I saw the Lovecraft reference. In the cthulu setting it becomes something completely different, I can see the black and white monsters coming out of the walls as I write...

Beautiful. Very powerful, like you expect an army of samurai to come over the hill, banners flapping in the wind. Would love to hear a long version of it

Very mysterious, almost a dark thriller sound to it in places. Definately something but it doesn't quiet seem finished, can't put my finger on it. Maybe some non-lyrics vocals?

Nothing wrong with loop-only songs, as this shows. For those of us who can't play it's a great way to be creative. Very enjoyable piece of music, thank you.

Love the production, very profesional, I thought the song could have been lifted and made a little clearer in some places though and I prefer endings to fade outs. Good job guys.

Really sweet guitar. I could almost here the song there. I'm sure you won't be short of people offering lyrics to this one.
