Biography

Thanks for stopping by. My name is Billy Mayfield. I grew up in a very musical town in the US named Pittsburgh Pa. Jazz pianist & and composers Ahmad Jamal & Billy Strayhorn both attended Westinghouse High school as I did. I now live just outside of Washington, DC. I've lived in this area almost 25 years. I've been in some form of music since the age of 4. I'm now chasing my mid 40's. My desire is to share my gifts with the world. I lead my own Soul/Funk act "The Soul Truth w/Billy Mayfield" We area high energy Ol'Skool act. I'll be adding more of my music soon. I started some of these songs on a hard disk recorder. (I'm now a chronic Mac user thanks to my wife). Playing Bass, Drums, Guitar and Keyboards and doing both lead and background vocals. Let me know what you think!
