| Hi Dave, you asked me for a critique, here goes... Nice! Very good production! The lyrics are great, vocals, guitar, piano, all very pro! The composition is good and leads me through the story nicely. Very well done! I like it!  From an engineering viewpoint (of which I am not a master by any means, just my opinion) : The vocals could have a bit more presence in spots, the piano tends to over-shadow the vocals. Only on the softer lines. Play with the volume curves to drop the piano in those spots by 1 or 2 dB. But bring it back up again in between. Or try a "Clear Vocals" EQ on the vocal track. Or raise the soft lines by 1 or 2 dB. The piano could use more change-up as the song progresses, same basic pattern with additional off-notes or scale-runs. It tends to add to the story-line feel, if not over done. It has a very good methodical rhythm, but towards the end of the song, should become more. Same with drums, more change ups as song progresses. Sometimes adding a few more additional hits or changing the "hit pattern" as the song goes from one section to another can be a good "attention grabber". Then repeat the new pattern until it changes again. I like the waves and ocean FX at the end, could maybe fade them in more gradually,... so they are not "there" too suddenly. Would help make them sound like they were there all along. (the volume levels are fine, just build more gradually) About half-way through the song, on the beginning of the line "Life has (click, click, click) left no chance" there is a clicking sound, can't tell if it's the drums doing something, or if its a redline somewhere. Check your GB file at that spot for red-line. If it's the drums (intentional), you may want to make it more obvious that its the drums. Hope I'm not being too critical, I think the song and collab is great! You did a very nice job of bringing it all together. The points I make above are from learning from my own mistakes. (as you can tell by some of my own music. ) Love the lyrics!!! |

| Really good! Like this one a lot! Nice keyboard, good composition. I like your smokey voice, could bring up the vocal a bit more. Not volume, but more presence. Try the AUGraphicEQ on the vocal track, might give you more to play with, bring out the crispness a tad more. You've got a great voice, just thought the main vocal could have a bit more snap to it, the harmonies could be a tad stronger. The lyrics are great! Love your style! Good one! |

| Thanks for all the comments! Glad you enjoy my work (play). Shadow- I paint and draw more from my mind than from my eye-sight. My eyes are just tools, it's my mind the "sees" the vision. (that should tell you how warped my mind is. Many of these were done years ago, when my vision was better. Losing a little more every year. Now I do mostly digital art, PhotoShop and graphics tablet. Because I can zoom-in to see it better. A few more years and I probably won't do art work anymore. But, I'll be more focused on my music instead. That's OK. |

Constructively, you could add a little more punch to the drums, they sound a bit flat. Not too much, a slight tweak would do it. Give the snare more "hit" and bring the bass drum up some. IMHO Nice song! Really like it. |

| Nice! I like the tightness of the group, you guys sound really good! Did you record individual tracks or is this a "live" record? Constructively, the vocals could be more up front, more "vibrant". Not your singing, it's great, I think it's the mix. Course, that only applies if the tracks are recorded individually. If it's "live" (if it is, I'm really jealous!) pump the volume on your mic more, EQ with slightly more high-end, but not to crisp. That might bring the vocals up front more. This allows you to use less compression on the mic. I've gone overboard on the compression before, makes it sound like I'm singing inside a barrel and reduces the "presence" of the vocals. Not a good thing. I could go on and on, sorry. Great song though! You have a good voice, sing it out! |

| Nice and creative! Good work. My only suggestion would be to vary the quality (mood) more. From my own experience, classical is based on pushing the standards to their limits and beyond. It's a balancing act of keeping it traditional, while adding your own talent and flair. You're very good at adding your own talent, now tell me a story with it. Lead me somewhere and back again. I'm just an amateur classical myself, played in highschool and college. But I like what you're doing with it. Nicely done! |

| Hey Bob, Ya, I was a contracted high-end beta-tester for an advanced multimedia software company. Had to learn to make all my own movies, 3D objects, animations, clipart, backgrounds, audio, music, soundFX, etc. So I could push their software beyond it's limits and report the problems "issues" to the programmers. They would make corrections in the code and send me another beta-version to test. I worked with both Win and Mac systems. I was the only person I knew that crashed my computers 10 or 12 times a day, on purpose. I enjoyed it a lot. Oh, and thanks for the comments, glad you enjoyed it! |
