The Sofa of Sound by stevel 5 years ago
Heh, reminds me of mine. Except replace the sofa with a bed and add a keyboard.

[edit] umm, why did I rate this...?
Backlit Black by nperkins 5 years ago
Maybe I'm just so much of a perfectionist that I can't see what a song has and only what is hasn't while I'm working on it.

I was trying to do something like this. Two days on and off I was testing out different chords and sounds and melodies, but nothing stuck. Then it was midnight and I gave up.

Beautiful. Favorited.

Was that an OS X volume sound effect I heard?

Only seven plays? This is a really good song, I've even favorited it. I'm plugging this in the forums.

Simple (DJ Oskite Remix) by nperkins 5 years ago
Finally listening to it on larger speakers (I really need to do that before mixing it to iTunes), I notice that my bass sounds kind of muddy with the original's. I suppose a simple bass reduction would've fixed that.

Interesting sound. It lasts a bit long for me, but I like it.

People who sing and play at the same time amaze me.

How can you like too many genres when genres aren't real? smiley Ok, they're real, but should only be used for organization, not limiting your creativity!

You really know how to work with loops. I'm impressed.

smiley That loop! I know that one very well. Infact... I used it. Forgot about that song. I like the piano better though.

Pretty wide range of style, but you pulled it off well.

Did I rate this on your old account? I don't know, but if I didn't I should have.

I'm positive that first vinyl loop has been used for something on TV.

No loops? I could've sworn... wow.
Neutrality by nperkins 5 years ago
I decided to put it into electronica, since the guitar is the only rock thing about it, and it kind of morphs away from that. My original plan was to have it gradually switch completely into a different song, but I went back to the first theme at the end afterall.

Thanks guys.

falzaabi: It's a Fender Standard Strat, two single-coil pickups and one humbucking, black with a mirrored pickguard, and a whammy bar.

Being a nonsinger myself, if I could sing as well as you, I might actually sing.

Despite the paradoxity of that statement, it's still a nice song.

I like. Very midi-esque, err... midey? middy? Sure, middy sounds good. smiley

Doesn't particularly remind me of blue silk, but that's up to you. smiley Cool song.

Great lyrics, great instruments. I'd tone down the beat, but that's just me.

I not fond of industrial, so I wasn't expecting much, but this is surprisingly good.

I agree with robot - the drum and bass don't fit perfectly, but it still kept my attention all the way through. Twice, actually. smiley

On second thought, it'd do much better at the end of the album. But it's not like I really have any idea; there's only two songs on it so far.
Virus by nperkins 5 years ago
At least someone likes it. smiley Actually, it's slowly growing on me. Maybe it was just a bit of an unusual style compared to my other stuff.
Frequency by nperkins 5 years ago
Thanks. That's pretty much what I was thinking. I got my ukulele last summer, and I've really been getting into it the last few months (and especially this week, now that I've heard Jake Shimabukuro), but my technique... yeah.

I'm hoping that this computer dies soon, as it can't handle a lot of stuff in Garageband. I can hardly ever listen to a song all the way through without it stopping and telling me that it's using the whole CPU. If I had a bit more patience with it, I'd go back and change stuff more.
