| Really cool song. I really dig the guitar groove. Sounds like the vox were written at the same time. Great singing, jibes. I'll download this once I get home. |

| Stand Up by Joanna | 5 years ago |
| Again, I think you have a great jazz voice. You can sing on top of construction noises and it would come out music! That is not to say what you created here isn't musical, it is! It's great actually. I'm just constantly wowed by your singing. | |
| Acoustic Rush by TheTiler | 5 years ago |
| Great playing. Wonderful song. Thanks to JDwyer to pointing me toward this song. | |
| Movimento II: L'orgoglio e la passione (Movement II: The Pride & The Passion) by JD | 5 years ago |
| Wow! Really moving. First off, it's incredible you made something so alive with only loops. You must have done a lot with the dynamics, too. It's really impressive and emotional. | |
| Clinton Avenue Cassanova by nealbowen | 5 years ago |
| Really, this is incredible. Thanks to JDwyer's post pointing out all this great music. I just got home from work, it's 3 am. But I'll be back to listen to more of your stuff. It's incredible. You can jam on the bass. | |
| Why Do I Deny by matthewspeaks | 5 years ago |
| Great song. Love the guitars and the voice. | |
| The Last Embrace by Homebrand | 5 years ago |
| Another great song. I wish I'd listened to your stuff earlier. This can't be just 4 strings again. Love it. |
|
| Sunset Sketch by Homebrand | 5 years ago |
| Wow! Really just from four strings, sounds like so much more. Very impressive and beautiful sound. I think the song shines through the "production." | |
| Fizzing Drink Mix by pete | 5 years ago |
| great sax solo!! Good groove on this song. This is all loops? Feels so organic. Try some Izze soda with grapefruit. It's delish, too! |
|
| Train in f# (final cut) by scowden | 5 years ago |
| This is a great song, whether produced or "produced." I just ask you don't delete the sketch mix, 'cos that's got a great feel -- i think i prefer it, maybe because I heard it first. Either way this is a great song however you play it. Keep 'em coming. | |
| Train (sketch) by scowden | 5 years ago |
![]() Great song. I think it's real easy to look past the "built-in mic production" to see the great song writing, playing and singing here. You sound like James Taylor, I mean it as a compliment. (BtW, b6s I finally found out what Jeepster is). I'm going to listen to the "clean" version next, but this one is great. |

| Love In Vain by oldblueday | 5 years ago |
| MacBooks don't have fans? Don't they run hot? My 12" G4 867 MHz is weak in comparison to todays computers... those have got to run hot. I guess that's how it sterilizes. It won't melt the computer? Mine gets pretty hot WITH the fan. | |
| Corrina Corrina...Iko Iko by Dyl | 5 years ago |
![]() Two great songs by two great artists. I love it. |
|
| Love In Vain by oldblueday | 5 years ago |
| Thanks for the comments. By the way, those "subtle harmonies" are just me not able to hold the same note. I double track my guitar/voice to hide my poor singing and recording abilities. Jdwyer, you hit the nail on the head. If it weren't for the Stones or Clapton, or more contemporarily, Keb' Mo' or even the White Stripes, Robert Johnson's music would be forgotten. |

![]() This is wonderful, despite the loud computer fan noise. I know what that's like. Your singing still shines through. |

![]() I typically leave shred metal to the younger kids, but this song is great. Good job. Great guitar work. Your drum programming is good, too. |
|

![]() Great song. I love the drums and swirling keys. I bet if I listened with headphones I'd get vertiginous! Cool groove. |

|
| I Got The After Midnight Blues Somewhere Down in Mississippi Again by JD | 5 years ago |
![]() Amazing! I don't know how you put together such fluid pieces from "just loops." If you had asked me, I'd have said you played all these parts -- it just flows so well. Okay, I'm listening further in and it just gets better. I can't believe this is all loops! I'm downloading this one. |
|
| Passion by JD | 5 years ago |
| Passion, Grace and Fire. Is this a tribute to the acoustic album by John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola, and Paco De Lucia. I like this song. It's a beautiful ballad. | |
| Fakin' It by JD | 5 years ago |
| I came to this song thinking it was going to be a Simon and Garfunkel cover but was delightfully surprised to find this cool groove. I can't believe this is only loops. I agree with macsnob, this is hard to do with just loops. It's a real talent. | |
| Don't Dream It's Over/Cover by AnangaRanga | 5 years ago |
| Really good! She does have a beautiful voice. I'll bet she'll do fine without the effects, too! | |
| Guitar Love Song by Geechi3 | 5 years ago |
| Great. I like the way how your voice just compliments his, Geechi3. Completely unobtrusive. | |
| These Tears by Joanna | 5 years ago |
| I love the song. There are many tears we can share with the world. Yet here in the US, we don't feel any pain except at the gas pump. It's a balance between making music and getting too political, but you did it well. | |
| These Tears (Remix) by JD | 5 years ago |
| Incredible. Great song. I can't believe that Joanna is on iComp. She should be charging us for her music (but I'm happy she's not). The music is great. Did you use the world pack jam pack? |
|
| Duke's Return by JD | 5 years ago |
| Oh yeah. This is great. You made this with ONLY loops?! Impressive. You're right Rutherford and Banks are part of a great band... I could never get into Phil Collins's voice (especially in the later stuff when he used that same synthetic drum sound). | |

|
| Stuck (Garlic Man's Lament) by Dyl | 5 years ago |
![]() Oh this song is perfect. I need to find a way to hack in to the iComp rating scale to make it go up to 6 (or 11)! So simple and peaceful. |

| Jeepster: What one is in response to a girl who slides so good with bones so fair she's got the universe reclining in her hair. Thanks for all the compliments. B6s, I had too look up jeepster in the dictionary. I still don't know what that means, but it sounds good, so thanks! It's funny you should call it bossa-folky, Dylan. While I didn't try for any bossa influence, I do listen to a LOT of bossa nova (old stuff, Jobim and Gilberto). I appreciate your compliment, your music is wonderful. (as well as b6s and nm). |

![]() Great song! You're right, Ed has got some great leads here. Is that your daughter on the graphic for Goodnight Dreamer, she's a cutey pie. (I had to add that). |
|
| Sister Stone by oldblueday | 5 years ago |
| thanks to all of you, I appreciate it. Geechi3, I purposely hid my vocals deep in the mix. I'm not too confident with my singing yet. It's getting better but still needs a lot of work. if I sang like you, I wouldn't need to hide it. | |

![]() Man, I wish I started listening to your stuff earlier. This is really cool. I like the the piano parts, kinda seems like Bill Frisel (if he played piano). |

| Stop Breakin' Down by oldblueday | 5 years ago |

| Since I Left Memphis by oldblueday | 5 years ago |
| Thanks for the comments. You're right, Ed, I have a great relationship with my guitar. It has brought me great happiness for years. Same with my dog, he is on most of my songs in some place or another, such as his dog tags clinking or him panting... (good boy). Thanks Joanna, I'm still not confident with my vocals. Coming from you, that's an incredible compliment. Your voice is perfect. |

![]() I like this one better. Much more intimate. Really cool putting the Irish folk music and more modern-like effects together. |
|
| Smooth As Silk by Joanna | 5 years ago |
![]() Again, wow. I can see why this song won the contest. The only thing I would change is the bass. It sounds artificial. You deserve a real upright bassman behind you. This song is too good. |
|
| Bird by Joanna | 5 years ago |
![]() I'm just exploring this site jumping from one person's favorite to another's and came upon this. This is REALLY good. I can't believe (first of all) that this is all loops. Then your voice is marvelous. I didn't know you can make something so beautiful on Garageband. |
|

![]() Yeah, this made me smile too. Really fun. How'd you do that? Just chopped it up with GB? Some other weird sounds in there, too, though. The title is really cool. |

| Why You... [post-band psycho-swing mix] by Bob6stringer | 5 years ago |
![]() Wonderful. I haven't had time to listen to the lyrics but I love the psychobilly feel to this. I don't need to pay for iTunes songs with stuff like this around! This is a favorite. |
|
| In tune with you by thoddi | 5 years ago |
![]() How has no one downloaded this yet? I did. I really like it. I like it even more knowing that there are no loops in it. The fact you did this AND "Little Red Rooster" makes you the real deal. |

| Tips & Toes [Rough Acoustic] by Bob6stringer | 5 years ago |
![]() Okay, I'm biased (having a daughter myself) but I like this song. I'm giving the production a 5 even though it's recorded into the iMac built-in mic because this song has an intimacy to it. I love it. |
|
| Since I Left Memphis by oldblueday | 5 years ago |
| Thanks for the nice comments, I appreciate it. Bob6, you're right about my voice... I can't sing (I hate listening to myself talk on the answering machine). That won't stop me from tyring, though. In fact, ever since my kids were born I've been singing more made up nonsensical songs just to make 'em laugh. It's helped my voice somewhat. Renegade decided to bark at the end. I'd have to re-record it to get him off there. I think he did it to try to get his share of any royalties. Poor dog... he doesn't know there'll be no royalties coming in. |

| of Chickens and Goats and Things by SHill | 5 years ago |
| All those are loops? Great! I love the dobro... never heard dobro loops before, though. They're great. The beats behind it really work well, too. Where's the TV show? | |
| In the Mornin' ( Missippi Version) by crazo33 | 5 years ago |
| I think crazo did a great job singing here. It's more remarkable because I've heard him sing... and this isn't his normal singing voice. I think he smoked a carton of Marlboro before attempting it. That's smooth flavor. |
|
| Sister Stone by oldblueday | 5 years ago |
| You're right; it's not blues. Though that's primarily what I am learning, all my songs come out anything but blues. Thanks for the compliment, means a lot coming from you. | |
| THE BLUE NOTE CAFE by wal4u | 5 years ago |
![]() The singing, guitar playing, bass and accordian -- all of it are wonderful. I've been listening to a lot of your music. It's amazing how much better it is than stuff I've bought on iTunes. Most of all: I love your voice. |
