Garage band loops 1 year ago
Either you have loops that are made by someone else(i.e.Protools or Garageband's set) or loops that are composed by yourself. I only use someone else's loops because I don't have the musical ability at this time to make something good enough to suit me. Because of this, I always put "only loops" on every one of my songs even if I have changed parts of a loop, say in a midi file. But, if I would someday use loops that I have created, then I would tag my song as using "no loops". This is just my take on it! Others here might disagree with me heartily! smiley

GB will not create a mixdown 1 year ago
Hi Bec,
I don't know what a playloop is or what it might look like, but i don't see anything out of the ordinary at the yop of the arrange window. Is there a way that I could send you a screenshot of that very place?

Thanks,
puppy7
GB will not create a mixdown 1 year ago
When I go to share my song with iTunes & "creating mixdown" starts, the mixdown always stops at the same place. It doesn't seem to be a certain loop because each loop was "mixed-down" earlier in the song.

This has never happened in GB before! I have tried changing the mixdown quality b4 sharing to no avail.

The song is 87bpm with 29 tracks...not that this should matter! I am also using the kontakt plugin which I have always used successfully b4 with even more midi tracks than are in this song.

Any suggestions?

Midi key problem 1 year ago
To 8Month:
I knew that GB did that in the loop browser, but what I was asking for was imported loops that are not in the library. I guess if I import them into that GB's library that they will display the key from there?!

Thanks,

I don't see it in either the loop or media browser. Thanks, though!

Midi key problem 1 year ago
To hhm:

After having set the key for my project I have "auditioned" 2 midi loops with different keys which have sounded terrible together! I have to take one or the other, "select all" of the notes & move them 1 increment at a time as I described above to get a "compatible" sound. I have also "followed pitch & tempo" to all tracks.

Can anyone out there still tell me how to tell the key of a midi loop?

Thanks again in advance,
puppy7
Midi key problem 1 year ago
Being a newbie to midi, but enjoying gettting my feet wet, I was wondering how to tell what key a midi loop is in. When I import several midi files into a GB project, I usually leave one of the loops alone & shift the other loops either up or down 1 increment at a time until it sounds good to my "untrained" ear. Is there a quicker way to "match up" midi files so that I don't have to beat my ears to death finding the right combination?

Also, is there some site that could teach me different key combinations that sound good together? I don't have much of a musical background! I used to play trumpet in my school band from 3rd grade to 6th grade! smiley

TIA,
